Abstract: A computer program, method, and system for organizing and conducting product or service demonstrations may be implemented with a computer system operated by or for an agent or other person or entity that organizes product or service demonstrations and a plurality of mobile phones or other portable electronic devices operated by event personnel or other persons who staff or otherwise run the product or service demonstrations. Each mobile phone may be provisioned with an event management program that receives information and data from the computer system, provides instructions and other information to an event personnel using the mobile phone, receives inputs from the event personnel while a product or service demonstration is being performed, and transmits information and data back to the computer system.

The shopping cart is provided from a store where the promotional activity is to be conducted and converted into a mobile dispensing display by mounting an advertising display onto the basket and mounting a product sample support panel on the shopping cart over the child seat. The mobile display may be moved intermittently to advantageous locations throughout the store where shoppers congregate. Product to be sold and/or sampled, as well as coupons or other promotional materials may be placed in the cart, whereby the cart becomes a mobile promotional and sales display as the user functions as a shoppers assistant providing information, samples or coupons. The user is not restricted to a single location, and may maintain personal and promotional items under direct supervision.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for making a self-sealable packaging, and the self-sealable packaging and method of use are disclosed. The apparatus includes dispensing a web and converting it by folding or by welding two webs together to provide upper and lower layers defining a pocket therebetween. A line of weakness is provided in an extension on the lower web, and a release liner is positioned over the line of weakness in spanning relationship, with a pattern of adhesive applied between the release liner and the extension below the line of weakness. The release liner is secured to the extension above the line of weakness, and the web is sealed along side boundaries and separated therealong to provide individual bags. The pocket of the bag is sized to receive an article, such as a newspaper therein. After insertion of the newspaper, the extension is separated along the line of weakness to provide a flap carrying the adhesive.

Abstract: A packaging system indexes a pouch web, packaging web, and base web for forming a bag with an attached pouch enclosing an article such as literature or a merchandising sample. The preferred apparatus attaches the pouch web to the packaging web to form a pocket that opens adjacent respective edges while the base web remains unattached. An article is dispensed into the pocket with each indexing movement of the webs and the pocket then sealed inboard of the bag section edges to form a pouch enclosing the article. A bag handling mechanism holds and conveys the bags for accumulation into a bundle.

Abstract: A system for enclosing an article includes a packaging apparatus for enclosing an article in a pouch configured as part of a packaging structure having first and second ends and an opening for the pouch. The packaging apparatus includes a platform with front and rear sides and a support surface therebetween, a heat sealer and a framework for positioning the sealer forward of the platform with an open space therebetween and with an open area under the platform. In use, a bundle of packaging structures, joined at the first ends, is coupled with the platform rear side, and then extended under the support surface, around the rear side through the open space and onto the support surface with the pouch openings supported above the surface. An article is inserted in the topmost pouch through the opening which is then sealed by the sealer. Filled structures are suspended below the platform rear side until all of the pouches have been filled.
