  • Patent number: 6515948
Abstract: It is intended to prevent occurrence of rotation lock waiting times when a simultaneous recording and reproducing operation is performed on a disc-shaped recording medium according to the ZCLV scheme. In a period when audio data of one data block are input to a recording buffer at a constant rate via an A/D converter, another data block that was input immediately before is recorded on and reproduced from an optical disc. Audio data constituting the reproduced data block are temporarily stored in a reproduction buffer and then read out at the constant rate and output via a D/A converter. A system controller performs control so that data blocks are recorded on the optical disc successively. As for a data block that is recorded in two adjacent zones, the system controller performs control so that the same data block that is read from the recording buffer, rather than the data block that has been recorded on the optical disc, is reproduced.

  • Patent number: 6490109
Abstract: There is provided a data storage device concurrently allowing storage of data that can be reproduced in higher quality and storage of data that can be used also in a data transmission path with a lower transfer speed. The data storage device comprises an A/D converter 103 for sampling analog audio signals based on a sampling frequency, a DSP 104 for compressing sample data sequentially output from the A/D converter 103, a storing and reading control unit 107 for storing the compressed data sequentially output from the DSP 104, and a control unit 105 for controlling the DSP 104 and the storing and reading control unit 107 for dividing the sample data sequentially output from the A/D converter 103 into a group under odd number of turns and a group under even number of turns, compressing the groups at each different compression rate and storing them on different storage areas A and B, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6483855
Abstract: A communication content recording apparatus supporting a digital communication such as ISDN is provided. A communication content recording apparatus includes receivers for receiving data transmitted/received between communication terminal units through ISDN, protocol processors for processing a frame on a signal channel received by the receiver according to a protocol, an information channel processor for converting the data on the information channel received by the receivers to data whose format is compatible with being recorded in a recording medium, and a protocol controller for controlling start and stop of the processing of the information channel processor according to messages which are obtained on the basis of a processing result in the protocol processors.

  • Patent number: 6445876
Abstract: The present image reproduction apparatus stores one or a plurality of still pictures from a moving picture, and plays back the moving picture from a position of one still picture, in accordance with the selection of that still picture out of the stored one or plurality of still pictures. A display control part 4 sequentially takes still pictures from a moving picture read from a disk and being displayed on a monitor 6, at time points when an image storing button of a console panel 8 is pushed. The display control part 4 reduces the taken still pictures, and stores them in menu frame memory 7, while storing the positions of the taken still pictures in sector ID address memory 12. When a menu-display button is pushed, the reduced and stored images are displayed on the monitor 6 as a multi-screen image.
