    Abstract: In a torque sensor of a torque detection system, in a state where a torque is not generated, a first magnetic detector overlaps with one (e.g., N-pole) of a plurality of magnetic poles of a magnet when the one of the plurality of magnetic poles of the magnet is radially projected onto the first magnetic detector. A second magnetic detector overlaps with another one (e.g., S-pole) of the magnetic poles when the another one of the magnetic poles is radially projected onto the second magnetic detector. A motor control device calculates a sum of a value, which relates to a detected strength of a magnetic field detected by the first magnetic detector, and a value, which relates to a detected strength of the magnetic field detected by the second magnetic detector. The motor control device is configured to calculate a steering torque based on the sum.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device includes: an active region having a semiconductor element and a surface electrode provided by a wiring electrode material and connected to the semiconductor element on a side adjacent to a surface of a semiconductor chip; and a pad arrangement region having a pad provided by the wiring electrode material. The pad arrangement region overlaps the active region in a direction normal to the surface of the semiconductor chip. In a part where the pad arrangement region and the active region overlap, the pad is disposed on the surface electrode through an isolation insulating film so that the wiring electrode material is in two layers to provide a double-layer wiring electrode structure. In a part of the active region without overlapping the pad arrangement region, the surface electrode has a single-layer wiring electrode structure composed of a single layer of the wiring electrode material.

The control unit determines an occurrence of a collision between the vehicle and a human, in the case where it is determined that a difference between the first direction signal and the second direction signal is within a first predetermined range and the impact signal is outputted.

    Abstract: The electronic control unit includes a control section monitoring a manipulation of an ignition switch of a vehicle, and a timer section for automatically starting up the control section. The electronic control unit is provided with a fault diagnosis function of monitoring, by use of the control section being supplied with electric power through a main relay, a time elapsed since the control section outputs a stop command commanding the main relay to change to the off state, and diagnosing that the main relay is in a fault state where the main relay cannot be controlled to the off state when the monitored time exceeds a threshold time predetermined on the basis of a response time needed for the main relay to change from the on state to the off state in response to the stop command.
