Abstract: A dental or surgical handpiece which operates on the basis of laser includes a light guide for the laser which, in order to ensure the relative rotation between supply hose and handpiece, is arranged concentrically in the coupling between the supply hose and the handpiece. The light guide of the supply hose extends in one piece into the handpiece and, starting from the coupling with the supply hose, the light guide is displaced increasingly eccentrically toward the inner side of the bend of the angle piece, and the end of the light guide is rotatably mounted in a receiving unit of the handpiece.
Abstract: A medical handpiece, particularly a dental handpiece, for use with an internally cooled tool, wherein the tool has an axial hollow space into which the cooling fluid is conducted in an essentially radial direction through a bore of the tool shaft, and wherein the bore is arranged between two axially spaced apart sealing members which are arranged in the handpiece head and which seal the handpiece head relative to the tool shaft. The sealing surfaces of the sealing discs extend relative to the tool axis of the tool shaft essentially in a normal, conical or spherical direction.
Abstract: An adjusting device for a pneumatic drive, particularly a pneumatic drive of a medical or dental instrument, for example, a handpiece or angle piece, which delivers its energy by vibration and in which the vibrations are produced by a pneumatic drive, wherein an air flow is controlled by having an air supply line and an air discharge line end at a distance from each other at a surface and by providing a counter-surface which is movable relative to the surface and, which, in dependence of its position relative to the surface, forms a flow path with a defined flow resistance between the air supply line and the air discharge line.

Abstract: A releasable chucking device for a rotating medical or dental tool includes a tool shaft with a chucking end, wherein the chucking end of the tool shaft has a flattened portion and an annular groove in the area of the flattened portion, wherein the chucking device further includes a holding member protruding radially inwardly into the annular groove during operation, and an additional frictionally engaging support of the tool, for example, by providing the sleeve surrounding the circular cylindrical portion of the tool shaft with a collet or to construct the sleeve as a collet.
Abstract: A filter for spray ducts of dental or surgical handpieces, wherein transfer of media from a coupling hose to the handpiece takes place through a plurality of small openings in an essentially cylindrical portion of the coupling hose of the handpiece, wherein the size of the openings determines the filtering properties. The essentially cylindrical portion has a collection duct located radially outside of the filter openings, wherein the collection duct is connected with a spray line.
