Abstract: A modified dental implant fixture designed to preserve lingual bone by having the coronal aspect of the implant being compatible with bony anatomy that is higher on the lingual side of the implant surgical site. The implant may be of either the single stage or the two stage design. By modifying the shape of the top of the implant fixture to mimic healing/healed bony anatomy, bone is preserved and bone growth is possibly encourage.

Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention, in a set of male dental components, such as abutment screws, each male dental component has a threaded portion with different core diameter. Each male dental component is to be connected to a mating female dental component, such as an abutment. The smaller core diameter a threaded portion has, the higher friction is provided when the male dental component is finally tightened to its mating female dental component, even though the same insertion torque is applied to all male dental components.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to a dental abutment and methods of forming the same. The abutment may include a head portion located at an upper end of the abutment and constructed to support a prosthetic tooth replacement and soft tissue adjacent the head portion, an anti-rotation feature located at a lower end of the abutment and constructed to mate with a dental implant, and a fillet located at an interface between the head portion and the anti-rotation feature. The fillet may reduce a risk of fracture at the interface between the head portion and the anti-rotation feature. In some examples, the abutment may be formed at least partially of a ceramic material.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of composite filler particles, comprising: (a) coating a particulate filler having a median particle size (D50) of from 1 to 1200 nm; (b) agglomerating the coated particulate filler, for providing a granulation of the coated particulate filler wherein the granulation contains the coated particulate filler particles whereby the at least one coating layer may be crosslinked by crosslinking groups obtained by reacting the reactive groups and optionally a further crosslinking agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fixture, such as a dental fixture, for insertion into a bore hole arranged in bone tissue, comprising a threaded leading portion and a threaded trailing portion located coronally of the leading portion. By a widened threading at the trailing portion, the bone tissue is subjected to a static strain beyond the yield strain of the bone tissue. The invention also relates to a fixture set and to a method of insertion of a fixture into a bore hole arranged in bone tissue.

Abstract: A filling device includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a dosing cylinder having a high-viscosity material arranged therein. The second component includes a workpiece carrier and a receiving carrier. The receiving carrier is moveably connected to the workpiece carrier. The movement v of the receiving carrier during the filling process is determined by both the dynamic pressure exerted by the material and by a counterforce G generated by a unit having a pressurized fluid.
Abstract: A method for light-curing polymerizable materials to form a dental device is provided. A light-curing apparatus having at least one integrated lighting and heating source, a curing volume, and a temperature controller, preferably a fan, is used in the method. The light source and temperature controller are used to heat a first polymerizable material to temperatures within a first temperature range. A second polymerizable material is applied on or adjacent to the first polymerizable material. The light source and temperature controller are used to heat the second polymerizable material to temperatures within a second temperature range. The first temperature range has a first midpoint and the second temperature range has a second midpoint. The first midpoint temperature is at least 10° C. apart from the second midpoint temperature.

Abstract: The invention provides methods of making provisional and long-term dental restorations, particularly dental veneers, implants, crowns and bridges. A shell or restoration form made of polymerizable material having good dimensional shape-stability in its uncured condition is used to make the dental restoration. A polymerizable material is introduced into the cavity of the shell form. The outer shell and injected polymerizable material are polymerized and bond together to form a hardened crown structure. In one embodiment, the restoration can be fabricated indirectly by a dental laboratory. In another version, a dental practitioner can make the restoration chairside for a patient in a dental office.
Abstract: The present invention provides a tweezer for dental and other applications. The tweezer including a main body portion (12, 14) extending in a generally longitudinal direction. The main body portion having a first end (20) and a second end (18). A hinge connector (16) is located between the first end and the second end. A first pair of pincers is located at the first end (20). A second pair of pincers is located at the second end (18). A bias mechanism (22) urges the first pair of pincers (20) into a closed position and urging the second pair of pincers (18) in an open position, whereby the user may apply a force to the tweezers to overcome the bias mechanism (22) and urge the first pair of pincers (20) away from the closed position and the second pair of pincers (18) away from the open position.
