Abstract: A dental device is improved in its ability to produce hydroxyl apatite by having a layer of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) deposited thereon. A tile of MTA is prepared, heat treated and sintered to produce a micronized tile of MTA that can then be deposited by physical vapor depositions, hot isostatic pressing, molding or other conventional technique.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining layer thicknesses (t) of a three-dimensional model (1) for generation with an additive manufacturing apparatus, the method comprising: a step of determining the layer thicknesses (t) according to an adaptive slicing algorithm in which the thickness of a layer (2) is calculated through a relation based on the inclination of the normal vectors (n) of the surface elements (s) of the 3D model (1) which at least partly enclose the layer (2) from a horizontal direction (x; y) the method being characterized by further comprising: a step of selectively imposing on at least one surface element (s) of the 3D model (1) a precision requirement out of one or more selectable different precision requirements which respectively differently alter in the determination step the relation with respect to the inclination of the normal vector (n) of the said at least one surface element (s) which allows, through the altered relation, the layer thickness (t) to obtain a value
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of metal artefact reduction in x-ray dental volume tomography, the method comprising: a step (S1) of obtaining two-dimensional x-ray images (1) or a sinogram (2) of at least part (v) of a patient jaw (3a), acquired through relatively rotating an x-ray source (4) and a detector (5) around the patient jaw (3a); the method being characterized by further comprising: a step (S2) of detecting metal objects (6) in the two-dimensional x-ray images (1) or the sinogram (2) by using at least a trained artificial intelligence algorithm to generate 2D masks (7) which represent the metal objects (6) in the two-dimensional x-ray images (1) or 3D masks which represent the metal objects (6) in the sinogram (2), respectively; and a step (S4; S5) of reconstructing a three dimensional tomographic image (8) respectively based on two-dimensional x-ray images (1) or the sinogram (2) and the 2D masks (7) or the 3D masks as generated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method to derive a medical form body of lithium silicate glass ceramic. To increase its strength it is proposed that in the form body comprising lithium silicate glass or containing lithium silicate glass the lithium ions are replaced by alkali ions of greater diameter to generate a surface compressive stress. To this end the form body is covered with a melt containing an alkali metal for which an aliquoted quantity of salt containing the alkali metal is used.
Abstract: A method, system and computer readable storage media for guiding an intra-oral scan utilizing augmented reality. By visualizing a scan strategy in a field of view of a clinician during an intra-oral scanning scan procedure, a need to monitor the progress of the intra-oral scan on a separate monitor may be eliminated or reduced in order to save time.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a panoramic tomographic image (1, 11, 60) of an object (2) to be recorded using a 2D panoramic X-ray device (3), in the course of which X-rays (4) produced by means of an X-ray source (5) irradiate the object (2) and are acquired by means of an X-ray detector (7), wherein, during a movement of the X-ray source (5) and the X-ray detector (7) around the object (2), a number of 2D X-ray projection images (30) are acquired from different acquisition directions (6).

Abstract: A method and system for facilitating the placement of a dental implant device using augmented reality, and simultaneously capturing the result of the placement for subsequent planning procedures. By planning a desired dental implant location using one or more preoperative images of a patient and overlaying the planned dental implant location and the one or more preoperative images on the patient through virtual reality means, a clinician may be provided with an awareness of the positional relationship between the preoperative images and the planned implant position.
Abstract: The quality of digital impressions geometry and color but also fluorescence, transillumination, reflection and absorption properties can be inferior to single frame 2D/3D images e.g. due to averaging effects, rendering effects, difficult scanning situation etc. This can lead to difficulties in the dental workflow such as the creation of a preparation margin line or detection of diseases such as caries. By providing a correlated view of high-quality single frame images and corresponding 3D models, the dental workflow can be guided to be completed more efficiently using the single frame images.
