Abstract: A system for abrading skin to remove outer portions thereof includes an apparatus having a skin abrading head with a head portion and a skin abrading brush. The outer head portion has a rim for placement in contact with the skin along with the bristles of the brush. Air flow is generated in the head to bring the skin into engagement with the rim and bristles and transport removed skin portions.
Abstract: A collection canister having an interior for receiving air entrained exfoliated skin particles and liquid resulting from dermabrasion treatment and separating the skin particles and liquid from the entraining air and collecting the skin particles and liquid. The canister has trap structure including a partition wall for trapping exfoliated skin particles and liquid and retaining the exfoliated skin particles and liquid in the canister interior between a canister inlet and a canister outlet.
Abstract: Apparatus for abrading skin and simultaneously delivering a liquid topical solution to the skin includes a vacuum source, a hand-held applicator wand including a skin abrading brush, and a collection canister for collecting exfoliated skin particles and any liquids associated therewith entrained by an air flow between the hand-held applicator wand and the collection canister. The vacuum source also creates a flow from a container containing the liquid topical solution to the skin abrading brush.
