Abstract: The present invention relates to novel ophthalmic and/or otic compositions and to a method of treating eye and ear irritations and inflammation in warm blooded animals by administering to a warm blooded animal in need of such treatment an effective amount of bis-(2-pyridyl-1-oxide) disulfide and/or at least one adduct of bis-(2-pyridyl-1-oxide) disulfide having the empirical formula:(C.sub.5 H.sub.4 NOS).sub.2 MY.sub.t (I)wherein M represents a member selected from the group consisting of zinc, iron, magnesium, tin, cadmium, zirconium, alkali and alkaline earth metals; Y is the anion of an inorganic or organic acid and t is either 1 or 2.
Abstract: This present invention relates to a solution for topical or local application comprising at least one corticosteroid; from about 1% to 4% by weight of solubilization agents consisting essentially of a combination of at least one glyceryl ester of a fatty acid of 6 to 22 carbon atoms and a betaine surfactant, from about 10% to 50% by weight of composition of an alkanol cosolvent, and from about 20% to 50% water.
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel antiperspirant-deodorant compositions and to a method of suppressing odors due to the bacterial decomposition of perspiration by administering bis-(2-pyridyl-1-oxide) disulfide and/or at least one adduct of bis-(2-pyridyl-1-oxide) disulfide having the empirical formula:(C.sub.5 H.sub.4 NOS).sub.2 MY.sub.t (I)wherein M represents a member selected from the group consisting of zinc, iron, magnesium, tin, cadmium, zirconium, alkali and alkaline earth metals; Y is the anion of an inorganic or organic acid and t is either 1 or 2.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treating pseudofolliculitis barbae in humans by topically administering to a person in need of such treatment an effective amount of the synergistic combination of benzoyl peroxide and chlorohydroxyquinoline, and the compositions therefor.
