  • Publication number: 20080089673
Abstract: A hybrid electric lawnmower is described which includes an electric motor operating the blade and the ability to drive the motor from either 120 VAC line voltage or from a battery pack. There is a user selectable power selection switch for switching between DC or AC power and also a boost and conserve feature which allows for increased speed of the blade as necessary. Running the mower at the conserve setting prolongs battery pack duration per charge.

  • Publication number: 20070221206
Abstract: The artificial embers can generally be used in any gas appliance with a gas fired log set that has a burner and are formed of silicon carbide or alumina. A plurality of the embers are placed loosely on a burner in registry with the flames of the burner in order to produce a simulation of actual glowing embers. The plurality of glowing embers simulates an actual ash bed or coals within the gas fired log set. The glowing artificial embers release a minimal amount of NO2 and CO emissions while creating a more realistic and brighter glow.

  • Publication number: 20070177384
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting fixture housing a motion sensor. More specifically, the invention relates to a lighting fixture and motion sensor completely integrated with a support post or a pedestal. The lighting fixture houses a motion sensor with greater than 180-degree motion sensing capabilities. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the fixture comprises an internal assembly and a protective assembly. The protective assembly comprises an enclosure covering a housing structure. The internal assembly is situated completely within the protective assembly. The one or more lens shields can be used to cover the housing windows through which infrared radiation passes to the internal assembly, and the lens shields may act as a filter that can be used to customize the field of view of the sensor by screening or blocking radiation coming from selected angles. The fixture can be completely integrated with either a post or pedestal in a manner that is aesthetically pleasing.

  • Patent number: 7237620
Abstract: An electric garden tiller is disclosed. The tiller is light weight, compact and easy to use. The tiller includes a two stage speed reduction transmission and an aluminum transmission housing. Connected to the transmission housing are a main housing and electric motor, a fender, a tine shaft and four tine assemblies, a rotatable wheel assembly and a foldable handle. Connected to the handle is a safety switch mechanism requiring two simultaneous actions to activate the motor. Once activated, if an operator's hand is removed, the motor will stop.

  • Publication number: 20070102273
Abstract: An illuminated doorbell pushbutton assembly includes a pushbutton assembly that uses a light source, or a plurality thereof to illuminate the pushbutton. The assembly also includes a user-adjustable rotating task light that can be used to direct light to a door lock, a dark step, or to provide a light for identifying keys. A reflector is rotated through an arc to direct light to the area desired by the user. The assembly further includes an electrical circuit that enables the assembly to be installed with electro-mechanical or electronic chimes.

  • Patent number: 7148628
Abstract: A method and circuit arrangement dynamically calibrate a photosensitive control for a light source that includes a voltage divider circuit coupled to a resistive light detector and configured to output to a comparison circuit a variable voltage signal that varies with the resistance of the resistive light detector. To calibrate the photosensitive control, a variable impedance circuit in the voltage divider circuit is adjusted to null out any changes in voltage caused by feedback from the controlled light source. The amount of correction is proportional to the amount of light feedback. Based on the amount of correction needed, a new reference voltage is selected that will accurately detect the next dusk to dawn transition while the light feedback is present.

  • Patent number: 7146975
Abstract: A realistic gas fire log system providing log movement during use to enhance the realism of a fireplace system, comprising a ceramic fiber top, molded to look like charred embers or ash ported with one or more holes and recessed at the bottom to form a cavity, a steel pan sealed to the bottom of the ceramic fiber top, forming a chamber; a gas supply, gas control valve and a venturi fitted in an orifice through the pan, and including a log movement mechanism comprising an armature for pivotable attachment to one end of a fire log resting over a second fire log including two or more log sections connected by a spring and an activating mechanism, which armature causes the hinged log to collapse downwardly when activated and reposition into its original position when the fireplace is turned off. The log movement mechanism can be incorporated into existing gas fire log systems or made part of the original equipment of a gas fire log system.
