Abstract: A fireplace shelf and mantel support system includes slotwall panels affixed to the structure wall above and to the side of the fireplace opening. The slotwall panels include T-shaped support slots. A mantel and shelves are provided and are supported on the slotwall panels with support brackets. The support brackets include a leg having an inturned upper portion extending into the slotwall support slots and an arm extending away therefrom for supporting the mantel or shelves. Edge trim is provided along the perimeter edge of the slotwall panels.
