Patent number: 7535184Abstract: A light-weight, portable photocuring device possesses a single light emitting diode (LED). The single LED backed with a heat sink is driven by a driving circuit and controlled by a timing circuit. A temperature monitor can be included in a closed loop to feed back and control the driver. Lenses and/or light guides in the device act to further direct the light.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2005Date of Patent: May 19, 2009Assignee: Design Rite LLCInventor: Gilbert Fregoso

Patent number: 7157865Abstract: A circuit for driving cold cathode tubes and external electrode fluorescent lamps uses only 19–26 watts of power. A steady square wave oscillator generator sets a running frequency for the circuit. A high voltage inductor or high voltage/high frequency transformer in combination with a current limiting capacitor, the lamp and two low resonance value capacitors in series are set and tuned to the oscillation frequency to achieve resonance with the oscillator. The circuit requires an input that has been capacitively and inductively filtered to eliminate harmonic noise in and out of the input line. A thermal shutdown feedback circuit monitors temperature of the circuit. Further, a non-inductive or non-capacitive loading lamp detection feedback and a lamp disconnect driver eliminates false disconnects at start up due to cold bulbs and allows all lamps running on the circuit to continue operation if one is disconnected.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2005Date of Patent: January 2, 2007Assignee: Design Rite LLCInventor: Gilbert Fregoso

Patent number: 7015660Abstract: The subject invention is a circuit for driving a cold cathode tube using a 110V power supply. Power is provided to the cold cathode tube through a direct current converter circuit. A resonance capacitor works in conjunction with the inductive storage device until the start resonance of the tube is attained as directed by a resistor/capacitor (R/C) network. Once the tube starts conducting, another R/C network maintains and controls the circuit at a run resonance. The main driver is an oscillator with a high side and low side MOSFET driver.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2003Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Assignee: Design Rite LLCInventor: Gilbert Fregoso

Patent number: 6724156Abstract: A circuit efficiently drives light emitting diodes (LEDs). The circuit uses a switching regulator device instead of a standard resistor to limit current to the LEDs. The switching regulator device is in a closed loop with a current sensing device near the LED lamps. Feedback from this current sensing device switches the control method according to the current load regulating the voltage applied to the LEDs. An inductive storage device in the circuit allows the LEDs to be driven with minimal voltage input. Methods for intensifying and focusing the light produced by the LEDs driven by the circuit are also described.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2001Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Design Rite, LLCInventor: Gilbert Fregoso
