    Abstract: A lid for a container including a closure surface, a circumferential rim extending about a periphery of the closure surface with the rim including an outer side wall, an inner side wall and a transition wall interconnecting the outer side wall and the inner side wall with the closure surface extending from the inner side wall and at least one cut out formed in at least one of the inner side wall, the outer side wall and the transition wall such that a portion of a brim of the container is visible through the cut out when the lid is properly positioned on the container.
