  • Patent number: 7248886
Abstract: A cordless communication system includes a mobile terminal of a public mobile communication system and a base station. The base station is connectable to a public fixed network and compatible at an air interface with the mobile communication system which has at least one authentication function. A read and write unit of the base station reads and writes from and to, respectively, at least one identification module. Sections of data of the identification module used in the base station are identical to sections of data stored on a chip card of an access-authorized mobile terminal. The read data from the identification module is processed through software implemented in the base station. The mobile terminal is authenticated with regard to the base station through the processed data, wherein the base station fulfills the same functions and tasks as a home location register and, respectively, an authentication center of the mobile communication system.

  • Patent number: 6876865
Abstract: The invention pertains to a method for reaching subscribers in a radio communication system in which an object identification is temporarily assigned to the subscribers. The temporary object identifications are formed by subscriber data sets that respectively define a complete subscriber environment of a virtual communication network VP within the radio communication system, wherein one or more of such subscriber data sets can be assigned to subscribers of the communication system.

  • Patent number: 6801890
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for enhancing recognition probability in voice recognition systems. According to the inventive method, selective post-training of the already stored homonymic term is carried out after inputting a term to be recognized. This makes it possible to improve the speaker-dependent recognition rate even in environments with prevailing acoustic interference.

  • Patent number: 6741852
Abstract: A method and device is able to authenticate a subscriber of a digital mobile radiotelephone system vis-à-vis an authentication entity, wherein the subscriber firstly initializes vis-à-vis the authentication entity by executing several times the authentication algorithm containing stored subscriber-specific components and by storing the corresponding response parameters of the subscriber-specific components in a non-volatile memory. Systematic authentication of the subscriber of the mobile radiotelephone system vis-à-vis the authentication entity via a common interface is made possible by the authentication parameters stored in the memory since the authentication entity can always refer back to the response parameters of the individual subscriber module it already knows.

  • Patent number: 6600925
Abstract: A process for integrating cordless telephone networks into cellular mobile phone networks by using dual-system terminals which support communication over both a cordless telephone network and a mobile phone network. In the process, the mobile phone network assigns each cordless telephone network usable by a specific subscriber an own Location Area, to which a subscriber specific call number is allocated. A continuous check is made whether the subscriber is in the Location Area of the cordless telephone network available to him, and if so, then any call incoming via the mobile phone network is completed optionally or automatically by a mobile phone switching center using the call number assigned to the Location Area.

  • Patent number: 6597280
Abstract: A method for disseminating value-added information is described, starting from known radio paging services in which on one or more frequencies, by means of an address code which establishes the identity of a certain receiver, a message can be transmitted to the receiver, wherein at least one second standard address code is provided for identifying several receivers of the radio paging service, which is transmitted on one or more frequencies used by the radio paging service. By setting up a second address code, several subscribers to a radio paging service can be addressed simultaneously. The subscribers can in this case select and call up desired value-added information.

  • Patent number: 6385444
Abstract: A method and device for checking a telecommunication system (4) with respect to an accurate routine detection of system-internal call data records (13, 14). Various communications connections are established and later terminated between two subscriber stations (2,3) via the telecommunication system (4) on the basis of predefined communication parameters; further call data records (10a,10b) are independently prepared and saved from these communications connections at both of these subscriber stations (2,3); and the system-internal call data records (101013) for said communications connections that are routinely created by the telecommunications system (4) itself, are compared to the further call data records (10a, 10b).

  • Patent number: 6070123
Abstract: A process for a vehicle control and information system in which data and traffic-related information are transmitted by means of at least one radio-transmission system between a vehicle and a central unit. A data-processing unit in the central unit and/or a data-processing unit in the vehicle are used to calculate at least one route, and the route data is transmitted by means of the data-transmission system between the vehicle and the central unit. The data-processing unit in the central unit and/or the data-processing unit in the vehicle simulate in real time the motion of the vehicle, the real-time simulation being carried out both in the vehicle-mounted data-processing unit and in the data-processing unit in the central unit using signals which are it transmitted over the radio transmission system. The vehicle position in the real-time simulation of the motion of the vehicle is displayed in the vehicle together with additional information relevant to the traffic.

  • Patent number: 6023623
Abstract: A process for dynamic channel allocation in mobile radio networks, wherein priorities which are increased or decreased in dependence on interference occurring in the channel concerned are established for the individual channels. When the propagation conditions are satisfactory, channels with low priority can be allocated. The mean of values dependent on the extent of interference can be formed in order to increase and decrease the priority. In addition, various priority lists can be established for various interference or load situations, or both.

  • Patent number: 6012012
Abstract: A method and system for determination of dynamic traffic information or traffic events. Relevant data from vehicle-mounted terminals are recorded automatically, by remote interrogation or manually, and transmitted directly, together with a location identifier, via a wide-coverage mobile-telephone network, for example, GSM, to other mobile-telephone subscribers and/or a higher level exchange. In the exchange, the incoming data are processed and fed to selected terminals and/or third parties. In addition, the results of interrogation, for example, braking behavior, can be pre-defined by a traffic-control center and transmitted by radio broadcast or mobile telephone system to the terminals of road users in a geographically limited area who can then "observe" the flow of traffic directly and immediately report incoming interrogation results by mobile telephone back to the exchange.

  • Patent number: 5819176
Abstract: In a process for operating a mobile radiotelephone system in which mobile stations are actuated with the aid of an identification number transmitted from the mobile station concerned to an active system in that, after the identification number has been checked in the active system in a data set which contains at least the identification number and a call number allocated thereto, a status field is set to "active", and in which, on the receipt of a request for connection with a call number the active system checks whether that call number is active, in which, if there is a match, a connection is made using the call number, the data set contains a reference to a further data set which contains a further identification number, a further call number, a further status field and a reference to the data set. When a request for connection to the call number is received, if the latter is not active, a connection is made using the further data set if it is active.
