  • Patent number: 5094673
Abstract: An apparatus for removing dust from hot gas under pressure comprises a housing for filter units disposed in cascade between an upper inlet and a dust funnel at a lower part of the housing. Each filter unit comprises a grate array of collecting ducts to which rigid filter candles of porous ceramic tubes are connected. Clean-gas pipes communicate with the ducts and extend within the housing to a clean-gas chamber at which they open through nozzles juxtaposed with drive gas pipes capable of propelling gas through the clean-gas pipes for dislodging deposits of the filter candles.

  • Patent number: 5081939
Abstract: A bar for a rotary grate is of T-section and has an enlarged head and a fin projecting inwardly therefrom. The head is formed with an end face directed outward from the fin and a pair of substantially parallel side faces extending inward obliquely from the end face. The side faces extend at an angle of between 40.degree. and 75.degree., preferably about 60.degree., to the end face. Thus air exiting from inside the roller-grate drum flows obliquely to a radius from the drum-rotation axis. This ensures that even if the material being burned does not form a continuous layer on the surface of the roller, the air will be likely to impinge this material. The fin extends generally centrally from the head and has a centerline that generally bisects the head. The bar has ends formed with blocks projecting to opposite sides of the bar so that blocks of adjacent bars can interfit.

  • Patent number: 4911900
Abstract: In the selective reduction of nitrogen oxides of flue gases with ammonia, the ammonia is added as ammonia water upstream of the reduction zone. Residual gas phase ammonia and ammonia compounds collected with the flyash serve as recycled ammonia sources and ammonia is formed from them and, in an ammoniacal solution, is added to the ammonia water supply vessel.

  • Patent number: 4774895
Abstract: A pyrolysis reactor is coupled with an incinerator plant in the pyrolysis apparatus of our invention. In one variant the pyrolysis gas arrives directly in the furnace of the incinerator plant. In another variant the pyrolysis gas is burned in an additional separate combustion chamber and the flue gas arising from its combustion is fed into the flue gas duct of the incinerator. Because of that the units required in an economically self sufficient pyrolysis plant for purifying and using the pyrolysis gas and for the exhaust gas cleaning are made more economical. A process for consuming waste according to our invention is also described.

  • Patent number: 4753785
Abstract: A method of purging waste gases by adding to the gas, while it flows through an absorber, a neutralizing agent, such as lime, together with a liquid substance under such conditions that the liquid is evaporated and that a dry salt is left as reaction product. The absorption results in a reaction of the noxious compounds in the waste gases with the neutralizing agent, whereby dry salts are formed, which are removed from the absorber. The same neutralizing agent in the form of the aqueous solution or aqueous suspension may be used as the liquid substance. The liquid substance is supplied into the absorber downstream of the neutralized agent in the solid pulverized state.

  • Patent number: 4537139
Abstract: A drum-shaped grate of an incinerator includes a plurality of cylindrical drums, the grate covering of which is formed of a plurality of suspended middle grate bars which are combined in segments and arrested by fixed grate bars. The adjacent grate bars in the circular direction are suspended on bar carriers and the lateral faces of each two adjacent grate bars are spaced from each other by spacers. The surfaces of the spacers positioned between each two adjacent grate bars and abutting against each other are flat and smooth. Due to a possible relative displacement of the middle grate bars in their longitudinal direction owing to the placing of the spacers between the adjacent bars a clogging of the air slots formed between the grate bars would be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4519320
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for firing waste sludge in a coal-gasifying process by means of two separate dust fireboxes connected respectively to a fume gas drier and to a heat energy generator in the form of a steam boiler. To prevent caking of the ashes, fume gases in the second firebox are cooled down by the admixture of waste gases fed back from the heat energy generator. In this manner, the amount of the exhausted waste gas is reduced and steam production is increased.

  • Patent number: 4489754
Abstract: Pressure relief valve for containers, including a ferro-magnetic valve body having a hole formed therein and a sealing element for the hole, the sealing element being in the form of a disc-shaped permanent magnet having a side facing the hole formed in the valve body and an elastomer seal disposed on the side of the permanent magnet facing the hole, and a cap formed of synthetic material covering the valve.

  • Patent number: 4466384
Abstract: Product gas produced in a gasifier is cooled in a waste heat system consisting of a radiation part and a convection part connected thereto. The radiation part and the convection part each contain a pressure vessel with an insert provided therein at a distance. These are constructed by pipes welded gas-tightly together. The inserts are arranged removably in the pressure vessel. A free stabilization space is provided within the insert of the radiation part in the region of the gas inlet. Platen heating surfaces are located in flow direction of the product gas. The radiation part is provided separate from the gasifier and is connected thereto by a pipe conduit.

  • Patent number: 4427319
Abstract: An offshore construction in which a floatable platform is supported through raisable and lowerable support legs directly or indirectly on the sea bed. At least two cable winches for each support leg are arranged as lifting equipment on the platform. One cable winch is connected through a single cable line with the lower end of a support leg. The other cable winch displays a multiple cable line guided around two pulley blocks. One of these pulley blocks is arranged on the support leg. In order to be able to employ the lifting equipment even in the case of great support leg lengths, the other pulley block is arranged on a ring. This ring surrounds the support leg and is detachably connected through a locking device with the platform.
