  • Patent number: 4496972
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the representation of video images or scenes, in particular aerial images with a relative movement between a pick-up sensor and the scene transmitted at reduced frame rate. Intermediate frames are reconstructed to be inserted between two transmitted frames, said reproduction starting from a small number of distinct corresponding reference points in the two transmitted frames, said reference points being situated in different vertical and horizontal coordinates within each of said two transmitted frames, and being determined by correlation of image point location within said transmitted frames calculating for each picture element in said intermediate frames the locations of the corresponding picture elements in each of said two transmitted frames and determining the value of the intensity for each picture element of said intermediate frame by interpolation and/or extrapolation and issuing said value.

  • Patent number: 4493241
Abstract: A device is described which operates with pyrotechnic charges to release nts under load effected between a plurality of constructional components and including bolts acted on by transverse forces. An example of such a device is for the separation of the rotor blades of a helicopter in order to be able to eject the crew upwards from the helicopter by an escape system without danger on failure of the helicopter to fly. The bolts of the joint are connected to a housing having a cylindrical bore of which the axis lies substantially in the direction of the resultant of the forces necessary to release the joint by extracting the bolts. On one of the constructional components there is a piston which supports itself on said component and engages in a cylindrical bore of the housing. The pyrotechnic charge is situated in the space between the end of the piston and the base of the cylinder bore. An ignition device for the pyrotechnic charge is provided on the housing.

  • Patent number: 4464907
Abstract: In an absorption heat pump capable of bivalent operation, to make possible combined operation in addition to the pure heat pump operation and the pure boiler operation, it is proposed to divide the refrigerant stream after the condenser and the stream of weak solution leaving the boiler, with one component stream of the refrigerant being fed through the refrigerant throttle and the vaporizer to a low-pressure absorber, into which a component stream of the weak solution is introduced through the temperature changer and the solvent throttle, while the other component stream of the refrigerant is fed either directly to the boiler or to a high-pressure absorber, to which the other component stream of the weak solution is fed directly in both cases, and to feed the strong solution from the low-pressure absorber through the temperature changer and/or the reflux condenser to the boiler, but on the other hand to feed the solution from the high-pressure absorber directly to the boiler.

  • Patent number: 4442016
Abstract: A method is disclosed for increasing the cycle stability of a latent heat accumulator medium consisting essentially of a pure or saturated sodium sulfate salt melt. The cycle stability is increased by adding sulfuric acid to the latent heat accumulator medium in an amount of from 0.5 to 3%, by weight, based on the weight of the latent heat accumulator medium. The pH value of the latent heat accumulator medium is lowered without precipitation of impurities or the occurance of supercooling in the latent heat accumulator medium.

  • Patent number: 4441879
Abstract: An oil burner for installation in heating or steam-raising boilers. The ber has downstream of an oil atomization device a plate having a single opening or a plurality of openings arranged in a ring coaxially of the oil atomising device, the plate opening or openings being the only throughway for combustion air. A mixing tube is arranged coaxially at a distance downstream of the plate. • Patent number: 4432237
Abstract: Ultrasonic transducers, of an electrical capacitor formed of a counter-elrode and a synthetic material film lying thereon, held by a clamping ring and metallized on one side, are used amongst other things for running time measurements in flow field examinations in wind tunnels. It is in that case important to disturb the flow as little as possible by the spatial dimensions of the ultrasonic transducer and by the necessary mountings and current feeds. For the solution of the problem, it is proposed to fasten the counter-electrode (2) and the clamping ring (3) holding the synthetic material film (5) electrically insulated therefrom on a conductor plate (6) and electrically conductively to connect each with a respective conductor track portion (7, 8 or 7, 10, 8, 9).

  • Patent number: 4410031
Abstract: A latent heat accumulator is disclosed including an upright container hav, in a major volume first section, a latent heat storage medium, and a passage for a heat exchange medium extending through the charge in the first section. The passage is of the type of a conduit provided with intake openings at different levels. The flow of heat exchange medium through the conduit generates low pressure at the intake openings with the result that a part of the surrounding charge of the heat storage medium is drawn into the conduit for thorough intermixing and heat transfer. The intake openings are preferably protected to prevent large solidified particles of the heat storage medium from blocking the openings or from entering the conduit. The invention improves the heat transfer capacity and reduces the charge of the heat storage medium entering the associated heat exchange circulation system while retaining a relatively simple structure of the accumulator.

  • Patent number: 4393718
Abstract: An assembly as used to test material in a specimen within a high temperat range. The specimen or workpiece is clamped into a clamping mechanism having two clamping heads that are movably disposed with respect to each other. A divided workpiece end holder is disposed within an inwardly enlarged opening form on the facing front walls of each clamping head. A measuring apparatus including two elongation measurement holders are disposed at two laterally displaced locations along the length of the workpiece or specimen. A shoulder configuration is located at the laterally displaced locations on the workpiece. As the specimen is pulled apart by the clamping mechanisms located at each end thereof, the material between the shoulders is elongated. A particular rod and tube arrangement is used to measure the relative movement occurring between the elongation measurement holders disposed at the shoulder locations on the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4371029
Abstract: A latent heat accumulator is disclosed including a vessel for receiving a tent heat storage medium and a circuit for a heat exchanger medium. The heat exchanger medium is immiscible with the latent heat storage medium, has a different density than the heat storage medium and is openly conveyed through the heat storage medium. The vessel contains a collecting chamber for the heat exchanger medium and has a heat exchanger arranged therein. An external heat carrier medium flows through the heat exchanger for transfer of heat between the heat carrier medium and the heat exchange medium. The accumulator is characterized in that a first heat carrier medium for adding heat and a second heat carrier medium for withdrawing heat are conveyed in the heat exchanger in separate conduit systems which are in heat-conductive contact with each other and with the surrounding heat exchanger medium.

  • Patent number: 4364113
Abstract: The measuring equipment is used for the optical monitoring of cracks in mrial test pieces, which are loaded by a loading device. A television camera trained on the test piece is connected to a discriminator which converts the image points of the television image into binary pulses. The binary pulses of the television image are stored from time to time in a store. A comparator compares the contents of the store with the binary pulses of a consecutive television image and ascertains deviations between two consecutively-taken television images. The number of the non-coincident binary pulses of the compared television images is counted and indicated.
