Abstract: A method and apparatus for peer-to-peer file sharing is provided. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving a request for a list of neighbor peers, where the request is made by a requesting peer device, and where the requesting peer device has a local internet service provider (ISP). The method may also include employing a server device to rank each neighbor peer in a plurality of neighbor peers based on whether the respective neighbor peer is external to the local ISP, and if the respective neighbor peer is external to the ISP, further based on a cost metric associated with a next ISP hop from the requesting peer device to the respective neighbor peer. The method may also include generating the list of neighbor peers based on the ranking of the neighbor peers, and enabling transmission of the list of neighbor peers to the requesting peer device.

Abstract: A method for using a navigation application of a navigation device that is assigned to a communication module and disposable at a departure location includes requesting an input information via an electronic data message using a client device which includes the communication module. The navigation application is configured to use a definition of at least one destination location and the communication module includes a mobile telecommunication interface connected to at least one of a cellular network and a non-cellular network. The input information is related to the destination location and the request is based on an identity information stored in a communication memory of the communication module. At a data center, the input information is generated based on the identity information. A message including the input information is received by the communication module.
Abstract: A method and a system for the localization of a mobile WLAN client, located within a WLAN network of multiple WLAN stations. Static reference points are ascertained by measuring field strengths of the WLAN stations at spatial coordinates, aided by WLAN client(s), and assignment of the measured field strengths to the spatial coordinates in terms of data records. Self-learning ascertainment of further dynamic reference points is obtained by measuring field strengths of the WLAN stations, aided by WLAN client(s) moving through the region of the network, and assignment of the measured field strengths in terms of data records to the respective spatial coordinates calculated for this purpose, in the database server. This may be done to localize a WLAN client by selecting a plurality of nearest matched data records of static and dynamic reference points whose subsequently calculated center of gravity corresponds to the estimated position of the WLAN client.
Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining label-switched routes between a source router and a target router of an independent communications subnet, over which information packets having a predetermined IP target address are to be transmitted. An independent communications subnet suitable for implementing the method as well as to routers used therein also is provided. In an embodiment, the label-distributing multi-protocol, hitherto only used in IP backbone networks, is coupled with an internal subnet route protocol that is used in independent communications subnets so as to be able to design a more efficient and faster routing of information packets over different route topologies in an independent communications.
Abstract: In a method for the secure, distributed generation of an encryption key for a cryptographic method, where the encryption key, as well as a public key are generated using deterministic methods from a large random number (seed), the seed (S) is generated on the user side by consulting variables known only to the user, and a public key (V) that is transmitted in advance from the trust center. Generation information suitable for generating the seed and, on the basis of which, the seed is able to be derived deterministically from the trust center, by consulting information known only to the center, is produced on the user side, and transmitted to the trust center to create the seed in parallel.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the wireless data, transmission between a transmitter and a receiver, the data being modulated as signals onto an electromagnetic carrier wave in the range of 0.1 and 10 terahertz. The carrier wave emitted by the transmitter is concentrated in the direction of the receiver, the transmitter being oriented towards the receiver by means of an automatic adjusting device and the adjusting device using wireless communication between the transmitter and the receiver for said orientation.
