Patent number: 6554226Abstract: The skin of an airplane door conforms in use to a surrounding surface contour of an airplane fuselage. The skin is connected with a door frame which has supports arranged in a longitudinal direction of the fuselage and spaced with respect to one another in a circumferential direction. During flight the skin and door frame are exposed to a pressure load direction. To provide the skin of an airplane door with a clearly smaller dimension for the purpose of a light construction thereby avoid displacements on the skin, the skin and door frame are preformed against an in use pressure load direction. During the flight at cruising altitude, the door has essentially no displacements with respect to the surrounding surface contour of the fuselage, and thus essentially no displacements occur which could increase the flow resistance of the skin.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Eurocopter Deutschland GmbHInventors: Jens Bold, Guenther Klockow

Patent number: 6549160Abstract: The positions of moving targets in the azimuthal direction which result from the SAR processing are falsified by components of the vehicle movement in the Doppler spectrum of the received signal, so that without the implementation of additional signal processing, moving targets are imaged in the SAR image at a false azimuth position. A method of repositioning moving targets in SAR images which consist of multi-channel range/Doppler measurement data X with NND Doppler resolution cells, defines on the basis of the filtering coefficients of the STAP transformed into the frequency domain, a family of NDZ pattern functions M, and determines testing functions T assigned to the measurement data. The true azimuth position of a moving target is then computed on the basis of the position of the maximum of the correlation between the testing functions and the pattern functions.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2001Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Assignee: EADS Deutschland GmbHInventor: Jochen Meyer-Hilberg

Patent number: 6547184Abstract: An aircraft passenger cabin includes modular interior components selected from ceiling panels, wall panels, dado panels, window funnels, light covers, and baggage compartments or hat racks. At least one interior component is a standardized modular building block that can be used uniformly and interchangeably in different cabin configurations and sizes, in different aircraft types having different fuselage cross-sectional sizes and configurations. The interior components are modularly combined so as to be adapted to different passenger cabins in the various aircraft types. The multiplicity of distinct interior components among all aircraft types in the entire product range of an aircraft manufacturer is reduced, so that the piece count of each particular type of component is increased, and the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, replacement and inventorying costs are reduced. The time and cost for a new cabin design are reduced.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2001Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventor: Jan Nieberle

Patent number: 6544114Abstract: An air mass or volume flow in an aircraft is controlled in a closed loop control system. A controllable air distribution network is formed by pipes, ducts, valves, fans, a fresh air supply and climate packs. The generation of a closed loop control signal is based on a continuous recalculation or updating of rated performance characteristic data with regard to current pressure, temperature and altitude data. The updated data are compared with actually measured current data to produce the control signal. The rated performance characteristic data are stored in a memory connected to a corrected (32) which also receives the current data. The sensing ascertains one or more temperature, pressure, altitude and flow volume data to Provide current actually measured data which are then compared with the updated data for generating the closed loop control signal for at least certain of the valves, fans, and fresh air supply.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventor: Uwe Albert Buchholz

Patent number: 6544056Abstract: The invention solves the task of creating a temperature-controlled wire holder that enables a reliable and controlled release. This task is solved by the invention in that the wire holder (1) is produced from a shape memory material, and that the wire (14) is clamped in an aperture (2) of the wire holder (1) by compression of the aperture (2), and that the compressed aperture (2) opens by itself when the wire holder (1) is heated to a specific operating temperature, thus releasing the wire. The invention may be used in a temperature-controlled wire holder that releases a secured wire (14) under mechanical tension when a specific operating temperature is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Eads Deutschland GmbHInventors: Martin Roth, Andreas Schuster, Heinz Voggenreiter, Harald Vorbrugg, Markus Reindl
