Abstract: In some embodiments, a catheter device may include a catheter including a proximal end and a distal end. The catheter device may further include a connector coupled to the proximal end of the catheter. The connector may include a base having a recess configured to receive the distal end of the catheter and may include a hinged portion configured to couple to the base to clamp the catheter within the recess.
Abstract: In some embodiments, a device may include a tube having substantially cylindrical body defining an enclosure and having an open end. The tube may include measurement units printed along at least one side. The device may further include a stopper element releasably coupled to the open end of the cylindrical body and configured to selectively engage a needle to mark a length of the needle.
Abstract: A drainage device may include a catheter including a proximal end and a distal end. The drainage device may further include a hub coupled to the proximal end of the catheter. The hub may include a fastener element configured to secure the distal end of the catheter. In some aspects, the fastener element may be a hinged element. In some aspects, the drainage device may further include a puncture element including a tip and an expander portion. In still other aspects, the puncture element may also include an attachment portion.
Abstract: A needle device includes a multi-component housing assembled about a needle having angularly disposed segments. The housing immobilizes the needle during insertion and is adapted for subsequent disassembly and removal from the needle.
Abstract: A composite implantable biocompatible vascular access port device for delivering a fluid medication to or withdrawing a fluid medication from the body. The device has a non-metallic housing defining an interior chamber with inlet and outlet openings, a self-sealing penetrable septum, a non-reactive chamber liner, and a non-reactive delivery conduit. The septum closes the inlet opening and provides a seal through which fluid medication may be injected into the chamber. The chamber liner underlies the septum and cooperates with it to isolate the injected fluid medication from the housing and from leakage into body tissue. The delivery conduit communicates with the interior of the liner, and extends through the outlet opening to convey fluid medication to the exterior of the housing.
Abstract: A composite implantable biocompatible vascular access port device for delivering a fluid medication to or withdrawing a fluid medication from the body. The device has a non-metallic housing defining an interior chamber with inlet and outlet openings, a self-sealing penetrable septum, a metallic chamber liner, and a metallic delivery conduit. The septum closes the inlet opening and provides a seal through which fluids may be injected into or withdrawn from the chamber. The metallic chamber liner underlies and seals against the septum and cooperates with it to isolate the injected fluid medication from the housing and from leakage into body tissue. The metallic delivery conduit communicates with the interior of the liner, and extends through the outlet opening to convey fluid medication to the exterior of the housing.
