Patent number: 10476723Abstract: Apparatus and method are provided for discovery and networking of proximate devices using acoustic messaging. In one novel aspect, a peer discovery protocol is used to discover proximate devices using voting messages encoded in ultrasonic waveform. In one embodiment, the UE receives one or more voting messages from neighboring UEs encoded in ultrasonic waveform, builds its voting message and broadcasts the voting message encoded in ultrasonic waveform. In another embodiment, based on the voting result, a multi-tier wireless LAN is established by the master UEs through two RF interfaces. In another novel aspect, an optimized synchronization by the receiver is used to locate the transmitted frame boundary of the ultrasonic message. In one embodiment, the UE reversed-looks up a pre-calculated boundary-offset table to estimate the tone boundary and searches the maximum synchronization tone energy down to per sampling interval using a predefined search algorithm to optimize locating the tone boundary.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2017Date of Patent: November 12, 2019Assignee: Dewmobile Inc.Inventors: Shangpin Chang, Xiaodong Wang, Steve X. Patent number: 9571444Abstract: Computer systems and methods for generating a social network of users based on the users' devices being operably coupled are discussed herein. Specifically, techniques are described herein to determine the types of relationships between a plurality of users based on telemetry data collected at one or more server computers from the users' operably coupled client devices. The telemetry data describes, among other things, protocol(s) and network interface(s) used to operably couple the client devices, network operations performed by the client devices, and sensory data recorded by the client devices while the devices are operably coupled.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2016Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: DewMobile, Inc.Inventors: Steve X. Patent number: 9288299Abstract: A method for transferring files from a first mobile electronic device to one or more second mobile electronic devices. The method includes detecting a contact with a screen of the first mobile electronic device at an icon in a user interface of the first mobile electronic device, where the icon represents a file to be shared. The method further includes triggering transferring of the file when one of the following actions is detected: a swinging of the first mobile electronic device while contact with the screen is maintained; a flicking gesture to flick the icon toward a sharing area in the user interface; or a dragging of the icon to the sharing area and a releasing of the contact.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2012Date of Patent: March 15, 2016Assignee: DewMobile, Inc.Inventors: Xiaodong Wang, Shangpin Chang, Steve Xing Gu

Publication number: 20150373509Abstract: Apparatus and method are provided for a group gaming platform for mobile devices in proximity. In one novel aspect, a Game Directory Service provides an ad-hoc game list to all registered UEs. A registrar UE collects locally installed games from registered subscriber UEs and updates the list based on trigger events. In another novel aspect, the Executable Distribution Service is provided to expedite the downloading. A game-host UE sends a united resource location of an installer for the group game to all invited UEs together with the invitation message. In another novel aspect, Remote Game Hosting Service enables a passive-client UE to play a group game without installing the game locally. The passive-client UE relays detected sensor readings to a passive-host UE. The passive-host UE uses peer messaging and scene streaming to run the game logic and to stream the scene sequences to one or more passive-client UEs.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2014Publication date: December 24, 2015Applicant: Dewmobile, Inc.Inventors: Xiaodong Wang, Steve X.
