Patent number: 4781283Abstract: In an accumulation conveyor comprising load-carrying rollers, a roller drive is so devised that all rollers under one and the same load at a time are either being positively driven by, or are disengaged from, the said drive. Mechanism controlling engagement of the drive comprises a combination of a clutch-actuating linkage and a priming linkage which prepares the actuating linkage for operation. The mechanism may be positively actuable by a return spring of a sensor device, for example a roller depressable by a load. An assembly of load-carrying rollers may have sprockets drivable by a standard-width chain movable in a constant line. The mechanism may include a transversely movable dogclutch part which forms part of a continuously rotating sprocket assembly engageable with and disengageable from a load-carrying roller, the said clutch part passing through an opening in the sprocket so that the positive drive is picked-up and positively transmitted to the roller.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventors: David P. Patent number: 4343396Abstract: A drivable load-carrying roller assembly comprises a conveyor roller, roller-driving structure at an end of the roller and a clutch disposed at that end for coupling the roller to the driving structure and operable by linear displacement of structure formed on or displaceable with a guard member shielding the said driving structure. The guard member advantageously comprises a plate displaceable in a direction at right angles to the roller and provided with cam structure engageable with one part of the clutch for shifting that part, in the axial direction of the roller, in relation to another clutch part, whereby the coupling of the roller to the driving structure by the clutch is controlled. The said one clutch part may be spring-loaded towards its clutch-engaging position and movable to its clutch-disengaging position by the cam structure or movable towards both its engaging position and its disengaging position by the cam structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1980Date of Patent: August 10, 1982Assignee: Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventor: Alan L. Patent number: 4165944Abstract: In connection means comprising a hook projecting from one structure member and shaped for engagement with an elongated hole having a portion of downwardly tapered shape in another structure member, the hook is complemented by a boss which projects from the same face of the said one member, but spaced from the hook in the vertical direction, and which engages in a said hole in the other member. In a preferred embodiment, the boss is of a shape, for example a truncated pyramid with a trapezium base, engageable by its sides with the sides of the same hole with which the hook is engaged. The hook and boss are integral with the said one member, the boss being disposed closely above the hook from which it is separated by a transverse web. The sides of the boss are undercut. A spring-loaded locking device may be provided in conjunction with the boss.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1978Date of Patent: August 28, 1979Assignee: Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventor: Joseph Sunasky

Patent number: 4150510Abstract: A safety gate comprises a counterbalanced gate structure which consists of two side parts connected at one end by a fence part and which is pivotably mounted on a supporting structure by way of the said side parts to permit the gate structure to be swung between two end positions, and stop means pivotably mounted in relation to the supporting structure, preferably on the pivot for the gate structure, and automatically engageable with the supporting structure and by the side parts of the gate structure for determining the said end positions. Extensions telescopically adjustable longitudinally in relation to the side parts may be provided for adjustably counterbalancing the gate structure. The stop means advantageously comprises a stop plate pivotably mounted, between parts of the gate and supporting structures, on a pivot pin fixed in the said part of the latter.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1978Date of Patent: April 24, 1979Assignee: Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventors: Frank B. Patent number: 4064813Abstract: The invention concerns a shelf comprising a shelf panel and at least one flange consisting of a first portion dependent from the panel and a second portion laid against the inside of the first portion and closely against a marginal portion of the underside of the panel. Advantageously an inwardly projecting hollow bulge is provided at the lower edge of the flange. Holes may be provided in the shelf panel and flange for receiving supporting means for a shelf divider. A shelf assembly may comprise a shelf with flanges at front and back, and a shelf divider mounted upon the shelf by rods which are carried by the divider and engage in holes in the shelf panel and in the front and back flanges respectively.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1976Date of Patent: December 27, 1977Assignee: Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventors: Alan R. Patent number: 3935559Abstract: According to the invention, a car, for a transporter system, is provided, as means for detecting the close proximity of another car, with a device operated alternately as a signal transmitter and as a receiver and a plurality of plates at sides of the car, at least one plate, for example that of the leading side, being connected to the said device to serve as a receiving plate when the device is operating as a receiver and at least one plate being so connected to serve as a transmitting plate when the said device is operating as transmitter. Advantageously, switch means automatically changes over the connections of the plates to the said device in dependence upon the direction of travel. The output of the device when operating as a receiver may interrupt the driving of the car upon the detection of another car within a predetermined proximity.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1974Date of Patent: January 27, 1976Assignees: Electronic Machine Control (Sales) Limited, Dexion-Comino International LimitedInventors: Alan E.
