  • Patent number: 11649908
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to valve lockout systems, including valve lockout systems for use with an actuator and butterfly valves. The lockout system allows controlled access to operation of the valve, either to prevent intentional or unintentional operation of the valve. Thus, the lockout system prevents the unauthorized opening or closing of the valve. The lockout system includes a lockout plate in which a lockout bar is positioned. The lockout bar includes a surface containing a recess. Depending upon the location of the recess the valve shaft can be opened or closed.

  • Patent number: 10400910
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a combination air valve that uses buoyancy to lift seals into place, preventing media from escaping from the valve. Once the seals are in place, pipeline pressure is used to open and close the valve. The combination air valve includes a low flow vent configured with a pressure equalizing configuration allowing for reduced extrusion forces along the low flow vent, allowing vertical movement of a float shaft at high valve gas pressures with reduced forces.

  • Patent number: 9657859
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a combination air valve that uses buoyancy to lift seals into place, preventing media from escaping from the valve. Once the seals are in place, pipeline pressure is used to open and close the valve. The combination air valve includes a piston assembly which includes a main disc, a piston head located above the main disc, a float below the main disc, and a float shaft joining the float to the piston. When no media is in the valve the float is at the bottom of the valve and the main disc is down, allowing gases to leave the valve. The float is lifted as media enters the valve, thus using buoyancy to lift the main disc into place, preventing media from escaping from the valve. Once the seals are in place, pipeline pressure is used to open and close the valve.

A seal has a seat spherical surface. The seal is affixed to the circumference of the valve chamber. It has an on-center seal region for engagement with the on-center spherical sealing edge of the on-center disc. The seal has an off-center seal region for engagement with the off-center spherical sealing edge of the off-center disc. The seal may include an outlet flange, an outlet ramp, an inlet ramp, and an inlet flange. • Patent number: 7770867
Abstract: A plug valve having an entry region, a chamber, and an outlet region, each with a flow area that is equal to or greater than the flow area of, for example, a standard wall ANSI B 36.10 (M) pipe connected to the inlet and outlet flanges of the valve. The valve's plug has a cylindrical front sealing face and a planar rear face. The axis of the sealing face is parallel to, but off-set from the axis of the plug. When the valve is fully open the planar rear face allows unimpeded flow through the chamber and substantially reduces friction to the flow. The valve's seat is cylindrical for mating with the cylindrical front sealing face of the plug. The seat has a rectangular outline shape.
