The metal skeleton is stamped and folded to provide strength and rigidity. The plastic shell is molded to provide the geometry fitting the firearm. The plastic shell is attached to the metal skeleton to form the hybrid charging handle. The plastic shell provides benefits such a low friction. The hybrid charging handle can be manufactured cheaper and faster than conventional charging handles and with less material waste.
