  • Patent number: 10209318
Abstract: An asymmetric battery testing apparatus tests a battery unit. The battery testing apparatus includes a first wire, a second wire, a third wire, and a testing circuit. The testing circuit includes a test-enabling unit and a control unit. Each wire has a resistance. The test-enabling unit includes a resistor to obtain a first resistor voltage value and a second resistor voltage value. The control unit obtains a battery internal resistance or a battery internal conductance which is a reciprocal of the battery internal resistance of the battery unit according to a battery internal voltage value, a wire voltage value, a first testing voltage value, a second testing voltage value, a testing resistance, the first resistor voltage value, the second resistor voltage value, and the resistances. Accordingly, shorter test time, lower contact failure, higher accuracy, lower power consumption, lower costs, and smaller size are implemented.

  • Patent number: 9335382
Abstract: The battery tester has a casing having an input device and two detecting wires, a microprocessor, a loading unit and a battery power status detector. The microprocessor builds a strategic decision process therein to determine a discharge time of a battery according to an output current, a preset load having 1/N CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and a preset loading time inputted from the input device. Therefore, the battery tester can detect the health of batteries with different capacities and provides accurate detecting results.

  • Patent number: 8072341
Abstract: A detachable battery status alarm has an alarm device and at least one battery detector. The battery detector is directly mounted on the battery and electronically connected to the battery. The alarm device links to the battery detector to obtain the battery status in a physical connection or a wireless connection. Therefore, the alarm device does not physically connect to the battery or batteries to test the battery or batteries.

  • Patent number: 6369577
Abstract: Evaluating the condition of a battery typically includes applying a load to the battery for a first time period, measuring a first voltage at the end of the first time period, removing the load from the battery, measuring a first voltage at the end of a first recovery time period after removing the load, measuring a second voltage at the end of a second recovery time period after removing the load, and analyzing the condition of the battery at the end of the second time period. The condition of the battery may be evaluated by using a hand-held electronic battery tester device that evaluates the condition of the battery by calculating the dynamic internal resistance of the battery in a time period of less than one second.
