Abstract: A combination mixing and reacting device for mixing cement used in orthopedic procedures capable of operating under partial vacuum conditions in order to permit the simultaneous deaeration and blending of cement components to produce a fully mixed porosity free cement mixture. The device includes a mixing vessel and a reinforced evacuable housing as well as an improved mixing paddle design operable from outside the device that efficiently and appropriately allows this mixing and deaeration to continue.
