  • Patent number: 10205788
Abstract: Systems and methods of implementing features in session border controllers at runtime after deployment. The systems can include a session border controller (SBC), and a user computer communicably coupled to the SBC by a network. The systems and methods can enable a user to introduce, via the user computer, actionable information (Al) into the SBC, which can store the Al in an Al registry. The SBC can expose or otherwise make available the Al stored in the Al registry to the user, allowing the user to generate and/or modify, using at least some of the Al, one or more policies and/or rules that can be implemented and/or executed by the SBC for introducing one or more features in the SBC. In this way, such features can be implemented in the SBC at runtime after deployment, without having to undergo a separate design and development cycle for the SBC.

  • Patent number: 9342669
Abstract: Systems and methods of licensing and identification of a virtual network appliance. The systems and methods obtain information specific to an instance of a virtual machine corresponding to the virtual network appliance. The instance of the virtual machine is deployed on a predetermined virtualization platform. The systems and methods can generate an identifier as well as a serial number for the virtual machine based at least on the information specific to the instance of the virtual machine, and generate a license including license data for the virtual network appliance, embedding at least the identifier for the virtual machine in the license data. The information specific to the instance of the virtual machine can include a universally unique identifier (UUID) and at least one virtual media access control (MAC) address for the virtual machine deployed on the predetermined virtualization platform.

  • Patent number: 9270528
Abstract: Systems and methods of provisioning data storage and runtime configuration in telecommunications systems and devices. The systems and methods employ at least one decentralized revision control system as a data repository for storing data, such as configuration data, and at least one data provisioning component as an interface for accessing the configuration data stored in the data repository. By employing the decentralized revision control system in conjunction with the data provisioning component, the systems and methods can provide a data storage and runtime configuration provisioning framework that is data agnostic, application agnostic, and user agnostic, while further providing at least the capability of tracking and maintaining the version history of the configuration data.

  • Patent number: 9213710
Abstract: Systems and methods of storing and managing data, such as configuration data, in telecommunications systems and devices. The data are stored as objects, each data object having an associated type, and each object type having at least one instance of the data object. Each instance of each data object has a primary key field, which identifies that instance of the data object. Each instance of each data object can have zero or more foreign key fields, each of which can be used to make reference to the primary key of at least one other data object. By employing at least the foreign key fields and the primary keys of the respective data objects, various referential relationships, branching referential relationships, and many-to-many relationships among one or more groups of the object types can be defined and maintained, for use in storing and/or managing the data with increased flexibility and efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8825779
Abstract: Systems and methods of performing real-time data subscription and reporting for telecommunications systems and devices. The systems and methods employ a real-time data aggregation component that can manage subscription requests for real-time data objects stored on the telecommunications systems and devices from one or more users over a network, dynamically start and stop such subscription requests, cache the requested real-time data objects, and supply the real-time data to the respective users. By employing the real-time data aggregation component to handle such subscription requests for data from one or more users, the systems and methods can supply such data, including real-time data, to the respective users, while reducing the overhead on the telecommunications systems and devices and increasing overall system performance.

  • Patent number: 8825879
Abstract: Transparency control for session information for a communication network node can be set on a dynamic and/or static basis in relation to properties of a peer, an interface, a trust level, a session or a message. The transparency control can be based on message-related parameters, with the transparency of certain message parts being controlled on a static and/or dynamic basis in relation to transparency control settings. The transparency control can change upon the occurrence of a rerouting event that implicates recalculated transparency control settings. A message can be marked with transparency type settings that are evaluated to determine transparency control for the message. The transparency control can be based on transparency types of topology, dialog, identity, header, body, media, functional or accounting. The transparency control settings can be user selectable to permit transparency behavior tailored to the desires of an operator of the communication network node.

  • Patent number: 8799701
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing high availability of telecommunications systems and devices in a telecommunications network. A telecommunications device is deployed in a high availability configuration that includes two or more peer device platforms, in which each peer device platform can operate in either an active mode or a standby mode. Each peer device platform includes a device health monitoring component and a rules engine. By detecting one or more failures and/or faults associated with the peer device platforms using the respective device health monitoring components, and generating, using the rules engine, a health count for each peer device platform based on the detected failures/faults and one or more predetermined rules, failover decisions can be made based on a comparison of the health counts for the respective peer device platforms, while reducing the impact on the telecommunications network and providing an increased level of user control over the failover decisions.
