Abstract: A locking package and method includes a tray insert having at least one locking tab of a folded over portion of a panel or wall of the insert and an outer sleeve having a dual panel or wall having an inner panel or wall with at least one locking notch and an outer panel or wall with at least one locking tab release, wherein when the insert is fully slid into the sleeve the at least one locking tab, at least one locking notch and at least one locking tab release are positioned to lock and unlock the package.

Abstract: A locking carton, locking mechanism and method includes an insert including a bridge having at least one pair of locking tabs at the ends thereof and material cutouts in the bottom panel and side walls adjacent to the bridge and an outer sleeve including at least one pair of locking notches corresponding to the at least one pair of locking tabs when in a locked position.

Abstract: A locking folding carton includes an insert having a product cavity and at one end a pull tab; and an outer carton having a hinged lid having an angled opening at one end and a finger notch at the other end, wherein the combined insert and carton allows for a voided space inside of the carton adjacent the pull tab end while the insert is within the carton in a closed position, and wherein the hinge and the geometry of the angled lid opening prevents the lid from being opened while the insert is within the carton in a closed position and wherein the insert is moveable within the outer carton to an open position with the voided space inside of the carton adjacent the angled opening end and wherein the hinge and the geometry of the angled lid opening allows the lid to be opened while the insert is within the carton in the open position.

Abstract: A package assembly comprising a single piece blank folded to define a freestanding package having at least four panels, a set of bottom forming flaps and a first top flap, wherein at least two of the four panels form an inner package at least partially closed by the bottom forming flaps and the top flap and wherein at least two of the four panels form an outer package encompassing the inner package, the at least two panels forming an outer package being substantially curvilinear. The top flap may include tabs and a curvilinear periphery corresponding to a periphery of the outer package wherein the tabs and curvilinear periphery urges the periphery of the inner walls of the outer package to help maintain the package shape.

Abstract: An integrated merchandise display and return package is disclosed that allows merchandise, such as a roll of photographic film, to be packaged in a container which can have a protective barrier and displayed in a retail outlet. The exposed film may be returned to a photoprocessor in a return carton that is removably attached to the container.
