Patents Assigned to Didde Web Press Corporation
  • Patent number: 6006665
Abstract: A printing press includes an anilox roller having a rigid inner core and a replaceable, resilient, pliable sleeve having ink cells defined in the outer surface thereof. The anilox roller rotates in contact with two spaced doctor blades defining an opening into an ink reservoir whereby cells receiving ink enabled by a rotating ink roller within the reservoir. The anilox roller engages the plate cylinder of the press forming a nip therebetween for delivery of ink to the image areas of the plate. The invention finds utility in lithographic, flexographic, offset, gravure and letter press printing.

  • Patent number: 5405127
Abstract: A sheet folder apparatus for use with a web-fed printing press includes upstream and downstream folding assemblies and a conveyor for delivering cross-folded sheets from the upstream assembly to the downstream assembly. A head stop is positioned within the delivery path defined by the conveyor for limiting the movement of the cross-folded sheet along the path and for positioning the sheet relative to the downstream folding assembly. The position of the head stop along the delivery path may be adjusted during operation of the apparatus so that it is not necessary to shut the apparatus down to make adjustments to accommodate various signature size and format changes in the apparatus. A registration system is also included for registering the two folding assemblies relative to the apparatus when either the upstream assembly is replaced or the downstream assembly is enabled.

  • Patent number: 5060569
Abstract: An improved, multiple-station convertible web-fed printing press is provided wherein respective press stations include permanent modules with replaceable, differently configured inserts. The station modules each include a pair of eccentrically mounted, insert-engaging rails which are pivoted for accurate placement of a press insert within the module; final insert lockup is provided by an eccentric hook assembly which generates several thousand pounds of locking force, in order to secure the insert against misalignment and subsequent insert shifting. Insert replacement operations are facilitated by means of a mobile cart including insert-supporting rails alignable with the module rails. Temporary interconnection of the cart and module rails is afforded by means of endmost connection hooks and yokes on the cart rails, which mate the module sidewall and the corresponding reduced diameter segments provided in the module rails.
