  • Patent number: 7467231
Abstract: Screen data is generated by a screen generating processor (74) of a control host computer (7) and transmitted to a programmable display apparatus (5). In accordance with the screen data, the programmable display apparatus (5) inquires a PLC (3) or the like about a state of a device (21), so as to update the display or transmit a control instruction depending on an input result. On the other hand, a control host computer (7) has a public server section (77) to transmit to a client apparatus (9) via the Internet an applet, which is generated by a compiler (76) compiling the screen data. The client apparatus (9) executes the applet to transmit to the public server section (77) an or the control instruction inquiry similar to those the programmable display apparatus (5) makes. In this way, the display is updated in accordance with a response.

  • Patent number: 7466267
Abstract: An antenna device includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plane, a pair of antenna elements, a feeding section, and a pair of transmission lines. The ground plane is formed on a surface of the dielectric substrate. The antenna elements are flat, have different resonant frequencies, are formed on another surface of the dielectric substrate, and respectively have ends electrically connected to the ground plane. The feeding section feeds power to each of the antenna elements. The transmission lines carry out impedance conversion such that parts of the transmission lines which are connected to the antenna elements have impedances matching input impedances of the antenna elements, respectively, and such that part of the feeding section which is fed with the power has an impedance matching an impedance of the feeding section.

  • Patent number: 7456906
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that facilitate detection and processing of A/V device power status in A/V networks. Preferably, a power detection system includes a current sensor coupled to the power cord of an A/V device, a current-to-voltage converter coupled to the sensor, a voltage comparator coupled to the converter, a reference voltage output circuit coupled to the comparator, and a micro-controller coupled to the comparator and the reference voltage output circuit. In operation, the current being drawn by the A/V device through its power cord is detected and converted to an input voltage, which is then compared to a device specific threshold voltage. If the input voltage is not greater than the threshold voltage, a “Power On” command is sent to the A/V device and the detection, conversion and comparison process is repeated. If the input voltage is greater than the threshold voltage, desired commands and/or instructions are sent to the A/V device.

  • Patent number: 7456839
Abstract: A screen creating device includes a screen creating section and an address assigning section. The screen creating section forms a screen including a display element for showing a condition under which data is read out of or written in a region of a memory specified by an address. The address assigning section assigns a particular address to the display element so as to cause the display element to display a condition of read/write of data of the particular address. Further, the screen creating section displays an address list for showing a usage condition of the address, as well as a screen creating region for creating the screen.

  • Publication number: 20080186664
Abstract: A back panel for a display device, such as a flat-panel television or computer monitor, which is thin around the edges and houses all electronics in a “center housing” near the vertical center of the back of the display and which houses its electronics and power supply on removable circuit boards. The back panel provides novel heat-dissipation, arranges electronics to save space and simplify repair, forces the center of gravity forward allowing the display to be set closer to a wall, and provides less interference and signal degradation than the prior art. Additionally, the removable electronics and power supply provide greater ease of repair than the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20080157685
Abstract: An AC inverter circuit supplies power to multiple lamps in an LCD backlight. Conventional AC power is used as direct input into a full wave rectifier that converts the input from AC to a DC reference voltage. A transformer driver, including a chopper, converts the DC reference voltage to a higher voltage AC which drives a step up transformer to produce a voltage sufficient to drive as many as six fluorescent lamps. The components/circuitry associated with the transformer's primary windings is optically isolated from the rest of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 7196741
Abstract: Systems and methods that facilitate automatic convergence and geometry alignment in projection systems such as a PTV. The automatic convergence system (ACS) preferably includes a CCD camera mounted inside the PTV and focused on the entire inside of a projection screen Fresnel lens. Alternatively, the ACS may include a deployable reflective sheet, preferably in the form of a roll up screen. In operation, signals from the CCD camera corresponding to test patterns projected onto the Fresnel lens or reflective sheet are analyzed and used to align, center or steer raster patterns to compensate for convergence error at a particular location. In a convergence mode, the video is blanked and then successive monochrome video test patterns are projected on the screen.

  • Patent number: 6948692
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a mounting clip that facilitates easy installation and removal of protective shields for PTVs and other video display units. The clip preferably comprises a base attached to the protective shield and a thin walled body extending from the base. An forward lobe of the body includes a generally semi-circular nose and a locking member protruding from the body adjacent the base of the nose. A rear lobe of the body is preferably non-contiguous at a base end on the same side of the body from which the locking member protrudes to form a spring-like lever arm. The base end of the lever arm is preferably bent inwardly to form a push or handle member. In operation, the clip snaps into predetermined grooves positioned about the periphery of the display unit screen. Once inserted into the groove, the locking member abuts a stepped surface formed in the wall of the groove to removably lock the clip in place.

  • Patent number: 6944876
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for allowing a user to supervise personal exposure to a program exhibited by a consumer electronics device, such as a television system. The consumer electronics device includes “V-chip” circuitry that analyzes a signal and either blocks or passes the signal based on certain content-based criteria. In this connection, a user can program the “V-chip” circuitry with the preset content-based criteria in the form of preset content-based specification sets, which are stored in the consumer electronics device by the manufacturer. The preset content-based specification sets specify either allowable or objectionable content within a program signal received by the consumer electronics device. The “V-chip” circuitry receives a content-based indicator set, which is indicative of the actual content of the program signal. One of the preset content-based specification sets is conveniently selected by a user.
