Abstract: The invention relates to a tanning preparation for the skin comprising at least one tyrosine derivative of formula 1, where R<1>=—H, —(CH2)x-CH3, x being an integer from 1 to 20, R<2>=CH3CO—, CH3—(CH2)yCO—, y being an integer from 1 to 20, and an activator consisting of an aliphatic polyol having at least 10 C atoms in the molecule. The aliphatic polyol preferably consists of a hexadecanetriol, in particular phytantriol. Expediently, the tanning preparation is a gel, lotion, cream, foam, spray or emulsion.
