  • Patent number: 5814261
Abstract: A molding fixture for carrying tooling plates that can be interchanged with one another without having to remove the tooling plates from the molding fixture, with the molding fixture having a first platen for supporting a first tooling fixture located on a first frame and a second frame pivotally connected with respect to the first frame to permit movement of the second frame from a closed position to an open position relative to the first frame, with the second frame having at platen-support pod with a first tooling plate and a second tooling plate located on opposite sides of the platen-support pod, with the platen-support pod pivotally mounted in the frame to permit 180-degree pivoting of the platen-support pod with respect to second frame to permit interchanging the location of first tooling plate with the second tooling plate without having to remove either the first or the second tooling plate from the platen-support pod.

  • Patent number: 5655355
Abstract: A cartoner system for picking and placing multiple articles into a single container with the system including one embodiment with a first arm with a pick-up head movable from a first pick-up position to a second carton drop-off position, and a second arm with a pick-up head movable from the same article pick-up position to a second carton drop-off position, with the second arm movable in conjunction with said first arm, so that when pick-up head on the second arm is in the first position picking up a second article, the pick-up head on the first arm is dropping the first article into a container. The cartoner system includes a mechanical drive which maintains conveyors and pickup heads in a synchronous relationship whether the system is speeded up or slowed down.

  • Patent number: 5344202
Abstract: An end effector having an individually positionable piston formed directly onto a movable pipe with one end of the movable pipe connected to a common plenum chamber and the other end to a bellows-shaped collapsible vacuum cup with the movable pipe forming an elongated air evacuation chamber to permit quick evacuation and pickup of an article located proximate the bellows-shaped collapsible vacuum cup and a stabilizer located proximate the bellows-shaped collapsible vacuum cup to act as a stop to prevent swaying of the article as the bellows-shaped collapsible vacuum cup is moved from one position to another.

  • Patent number: 4820365
Abstract: Glass edge sealant curing system including a method and apparatus for curing edge sealant around a stack of Thermopane windows. Infrared heating units abut three sides of the edges of a stack of Thermopanes on a conveyor. One of the infrared heating units moves in a path perpendicular to the conveyor travel, traveling in and out towards one of the edges of the glass. Once the three edges have been cured, the infrared heating unit across the conveyor raises up to allow the stack of panes to pass underneath and subsequently moves back into position for heating of the trailing edge of the stack of Thermopanes. The heaters are controlled according to one or more algorithms providing for appropriate energy consumption. Optical sensors are provided for determining the height of a stack of Thermopanes, as well as the length and width for appropriate heater energization, and thermopiles are provided for sensing the appropriate curing.
