Patents Assigned to DIMSO (Distribution Medicales du Sud-Ouest)
  • Patent number: 6527803
Abstract: The intersomatic spine implant comprises a body, at least one anchoring element movable relative to the body to project from a contact face of the body making contact with a vertebra, and at least one cam slidable relative to the body and suitable for displacing the anchoring element relative to the body by the effect of a ramp engaging the anchoring element. The cam and the anchoring element are arranged so that the cam moves the anchoring element in two opposite displacement directions.

  • Patent number: 6454805
Abstract: The invention concerns an implant comprising a body with an upper surface and a lower surface capable of pressing on the vertebral end-plate located immediately above and beneath and having further at least a through aperture emerging on the upper and lower surfaces. The invention is characterized in that the implant further comprises an anchoring member mounted in such a way as to be capable of moving in the aperture. The said anchoring member includes a support part adjacent to a first vertebral end-plate, and at least a projecting anchoring element extending from the support part towards the opposite vertebral end-plate. Thus, when the implant is compressed between the vertebral end-plates, the anchoring member is stressed by the first vertebral end-plate at the support part to move relative to the body and the at least providing projecting element overlaps the body surface facing the opposite vertebral end-plate and is anchored therein.

  • Patent number: 6395032
Abstract: An intervertebral disc prosthesis includes two opposing plates and a flexible seal extending between the two plates for forming a closed chamber therebetween. The disc prosthesis also includes a liquid provided in the chamber and a body disposed in the liquid and the chamber, the body having a plurality of pores at an outer surface thereof and cavities extending from the pores into the body. The liquid and the body are selected from materials so that said liquid does not normally wet to said cavities and compressive energy must be applied to the liquid for forcing the liquid into the cavities.

  • Patent number: 6375656
Abstract: The invention concerns an implantable device for fixing a rod in a rather thin bone wall comprising two parts each comprising a body with a passage for receiving the rod, and a curved hook extending laterally relative to the body. Each hook is shaped such that the two hooks facing each other can be simultaneously inserted, by mutually tilting the two parts urging their bodies closer to each other, in an opening arranged in the wall, and be mutually spaced rearwards as said bodies are brought closer to each other. The rod received in said passages of the two bodies is capable of preventing any reverse tilting of said parts. The invention is particularly useful for fixing a rod for backbone osteosynthesis in the flat part of the skull occipital bone.

  • Patent number: 6368320
Abstract: An osteosynthesis device comprising first and second rods, a threaded member, and a connector having two jaws adapted to clamp onto the first rod, the connector having a threaded face and a housing extending between the jaws and the threaded face and adapted to receive the second rod bearing against the jaws, the connector being arranged so that a force (T) applied by the threaded member co-operating with the threaded face, against the second rod received in the housing towards the jaws urges the jaws towards each other so as to clamp onto the first rod. The connector is made as a single piece.

  • Patent number: 6306136
Abstract: The invention relates to a plate designed to be fixed with bone fixing screw to two vertebrae. The invention is characterized in that the plate comprises two elements each including at least one hole for a bone fixing screw, each of the elements capable of sliding relative to the other in a direction bringing them closer to or spacing them from the vertebrae relative to each other. The elements are provided with a screw and slot for limiting the mutual sliding travel between them to lock the elements in a given mutual position. The invention is in particular applicable to cervical plates to be implanted from the front of the spine.
