Patent number: 9902084Abstract: The device has a sawing station with cross-cut saw downstream of a feed transport device feeding workpieces to a transport unit of the sawing station that has a drive separate from that of the feed transport device. The feed transport device has a retaining/accumulating unit driven independently of a transport element of the feed transport device and subjecting the workpieces to a slower supply speed than the transport element. A transfer transport device is located between retaining/accumulating unit and sawing station. The drive of the transport element of the transfer transport device is controlled/adjusted independent of or by the drive of the retaining/accumulating unit via mechanically coupled step-up gear. The workpieces initially accumulate in the feed transport device and abut each other and are then transported onward with acceleration so that they are again spaced apart. The workpiece position is detected in the region of the transfer transport device.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2015Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: Weinig Dimter GmbH & Co. Patent number: 9873157Abstract: A sawing apparatus for sawing workpieces of wood or plastic material has an adjustable frame part and a drive motor. A circular saw blade is operatively connected to the drive motor and drivable in rotation by the drive motor about an axis of rotation of the circular saw blade. The circular saw blade is adjustable from a ready position into a working position. The ready position is selected as a function of a position of the adjustable frame part such that the circular saw blade carries out a minimized angular travel as working travel during sawing. The adjustable frame part is adjustable at least in a vertical direction and/or in a horizontal direction transverse to the axis of rotation of the circular saw blade as a function of a cross-section of a workpiece to be sawed.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2016Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: Weinig Dimter GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5653039Abstract: A process for accelerating a measuring wheel of a length measurement system for sawed lumber conveyed longitudinally is provided by accelerating the measuring wheel prior to engagement with the sawed lumber to avoid slippage. The rotation of a hold-down or centering roller is used for accelerating the measuring wheel through a follower roller permanently engaged with the hold-down or centering roller. The measuring wheel is pressed by an elastic pressure element both against the follower roller and into the conveyor path of the sawed lumber. As the sawed lumber is conveyed longitudinally, it comes into contact with the measuring wheel forcing it out of the conveyor path and onto the surface of the sawed lumber while simultaneously disengaging the measuring wheel from the follower roller.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1995Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: Dimter GmbHInventors: Adolf Peter Frohlich, Alois Heinz

Patent number: 5058470Abstract: Hydraulic sawing cycle control system for an undercut swing saw. Hydromotor 5 with crankshaft 7 fitted thereon without play drives the sawing lever arm 2 via a connecting rod 3. One revolution of the hydromotor corresponds to one saw cut. The hydromotor 5 is thereby controlled via a proportional valve. The path of movement of the sawing cycle can advantageously be regulated.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1991Date of Patent: October 22, 1991Assignee: Firma Dimter GmbH MaschinenfabrikInventor: Adolf Frohlich

Patent number: 4449558Abstract: A method and apparatus for trimming boards, wherein a first stage, a first mechanism initially fixes and cuts two positioning short end cuts for each board. These positioning short end cuts are then used for advancing the board into the corresponding cutting plane of a second mechanism for trimming the board. As a result, it is possible to take into account the natural growth of a tree (all trees become thinner towards the top) and produce the minimum of trimmed waste. Because the natural growth of a tree to a conical shape, the positioning end cuts of a board will frequently define two non-parallel cutting lines for the edges of the board. The trimming in the second mechanism can be performed by different tools, e.g. by saws or one or more milling cutters. If a milling cutter is used, the boards can also be positioned in such a way that the sloping edges of the board resulting from the substantially circular cross-section of a tree can be taken into account. i.e.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1981Date of Patent: May 22, 1984Assignee: Dimter GmbH MaschinenfabrikInventor: Karl-Wolfram Wiegand

Patent number: 4405276Abstract: Apparatus for unstacking planks from a stack with a traverser truck equipped with cams movable over the entire length of the stack. In each case the top layer of the stack can be raised to a predetermined working level, wherein the cams can then be moved up and down with a lifting unit arranged on the traverser truck. The cams are movably secured in the vertical direction relative to the lifting unit.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1981Date of Patent: September 20, 1983Assignee: Dimter GmbH MaschinenfabrikInventor: Karl-Wolfram Wiegand
