    Abstract: A portable supporting device comprising a body portion (12a, 12b) and a clamp mechanism having two jaws (16, 24) with a variable distance therebetween. The first (16) of the two jaws (16, 24) is connected to the body section (12a, 12b) and the second (24) of the two jaws (16, 24) is connected to a stem (18) that is at least partially housed within the body section (12a, 12b). The stem (18) moves within the body section (12a, 12b) to adjust the distance between the two jaws (16, 24). The device further comprises a hook mechanism (26).
