Abstract: Methods, systems, and non-transitory, machine-readable media are disclosed for audio adaption of content items to device operations of an endpoint media device. First observation data corresponding to media device operations associated with a first media device and mapped to first content items may be processed. A first content composite including an adaptable content item may be received. The first content composite may be adapted with a first audio segment. Based on the first observation data, the first audio segment may be selected. The first content composite may be configured with the first audio segment so that the adapted first content composite plays the first audio segment when the adapted first content composite is presented. The adapted first content composite may be output for presentation, where the first endpoint media device or the second endpoint media device performs at least one operation relating to the adapted first content composite.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure describe devices, systems, and processes for testing capacitors. For an embodiment, a system includes a digital signal processor configured to execute non-transient computer executable instructions for testing a device over at least three operating modes. The operating modes may include a start-up mode, during which the digital signal processor is configured to control initial charging of the device to a desired initial condition, a charge mode, during which the digital signal processor is configured to control replenishment of electrical energy in the device, and a test mode, during which the digital signal processor is configured to control testing of the device in accordance with at least one testing protocol. The device may include an energy capture circuit configured to capture recovered energy arising during a first test cycle and to provide the recovered energy to the device for use during a second test cycle.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for routing wires or other inserted members thru walls or other structural elements are described. For at least one embodiment, a device, for forming a channel between two structural elements, includes a first member configured for insertion into a first hole, and a second member configured for insertion into a second hole. The first member may be configured for mating with the second member while the second member is being inserted into the second hole such that a channel is formed by the first member mated with the second member. The channel facilitates routing of an inserted member into and thru the first hole, thru the channel formed by the first member mated with the second member, and thru and out of the second hole.

Abstract: Techniques described herein include evaluation and management of device hardware, software, and network resources during streaming, downloading, or playback of video resources on client devices from remote locations. Certain aspects relate to evaluating the current resources available at a client device, such as memory, processing capacity, device battery status, network availability and/or network data quotas, in view of a video resource request. Based on the evaluation of the client device's resources, and estimations of the effects that video streaming/downloading and playback may have on the client device's resources, the client device may control, customize, and/or alter the retrieval or playback of requested video resources.

Abstract: Various arrangements are presented for using an estimated timing advance for user equipment communications. A location of an instance of user equipment may be determined. A first estimated distance between the user equipment and a communication satellite may be determined using the determined location of the user equipment and an estimated satellite location. A second estimated distance between the communication satellite and a communication network gateway may be determined. An estimated timing offset using the calculated first estimated distance and the determined second estimated distance may be determined. An uplink data frame may be transmitted by the user equipment to the satellite such that a timing of transmission of the uplink data frame is based on the calculated estimated timing offset.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for one or more sensors arrayed adjacent to a golf course playing surface to track the trajectory and determine a resting location of a golf ball it travels along the golf course playing surface. The sensors may include motion detecting sensors that may determine various measurements related to the location and/or movement of the golf ball, such as an initial impact location, a velocity, and/or a direction of travel of the golf ball along the golf course playing surface. The signals from the motion detecting sensors may further be used to determine a resting location for the golf ball and/or a rate of acceleration/deceleration of the golf ball. The various signals may be averaged together to determine a velocity and/or direction of travel of the golf ball.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable media for adapting content items to device operations of an endpoint media device are disclosed. A first content composite may be created by one or more processing devices for delivery in a packet stream from a content provider system via one or more networks, where the first content composite may include an adaptable content item corresponding to a set of one or more audio and/or video packets corresponding to audio and/or video content. The first content composite may be transmitted, where, consequent to delivery of the first content composite to a first endpoint media device or a second endpoint media device, the first endpoint media device or the second endpoint media device may perform one operation relating to a second content item of the first content composite, where the adaptable content item may be modified based on the second content item.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for detecting reversed polarity bootleg ground wiring configurations of an electrical outlet are disclosed. For at least one embodiment, a system in includes a test transmitter and a test receiver. The test receiver being configured to detect a ping generated by the test transmitter and determine whether the ping is received via a proper receptacle of an outlet being tested. The system also includes a test receiver configured to determine is a bootleg ground configuration exists using one of time domain reflectometry and/or a resistance based measurement approach. A method for testing an outlet includes one or both of testing for reversed polarity and bootleg ground configurations.

Abstract: Novel techniques are described for location-tracked media delivery. For example, a particular consumer premises has multiple media consumption devices, each located in a different room of the premises. One or more media streams being consumed via one or more of the media consumption devices can be tracked. As one or more consumers move through the premises, their respective physical locations in the premises can also be tracked with respect to media consumption regions of the media consumption devices. By detecting movement of the consumers with respect to the consumed streams and the media consumption devices, embodiments can automatically provide various features. For example, streams can automatically be transferred or cloned among the media consumption devices, and/or streams and devices can be adapted automatically to facilitate some continued media consumption in some dead space regions.

Abstract: A technique is described for improved issue reporting by a receiving device such as a set-top boxes for satellite and cable television services. In an example embodiment, the receiving device generates an issue report based on internal operational logs, captured screens and/or video of a visual output, and a recording of the user's voice that includes a description of the issue they are experiencing. This issue report can be generated as an object file that can then be transmitted, via a communications network, to an issue reporting platform for processing, for example, by a technical support representative or an automated troubleshooting system.

Abstract: Systems, devices and processes reduce the amount of memory or disk space needed to store encoded video content used in adaptive video streaming by eliminating certain portions of the recorded program from one or more copies of the encoded program. Content occurring before or after a scheduled start of a program, for example, can be retained in only a subset of the encoded copies so that the program content is available to be streamed, but only at certain video qualities. Commercials or other less popular portions may also be eliminated in one or more encoded copies. By eliminating the less-likely-to-be-viewed portions of the content from some (but not all) of the encoded copies, the total amount of storage space needed to store the encoded program is reduced without compromising the ability to play back all portions of the recorded program.

Abstract: Systems, and methods are described to provide voice search in an elastic cloud environment communicating with a set-top box (STB) by receiving by a voice cloud search server pulse-code modulation (PCM) audio packets transmitted from the STB; sending the PCM audio packets to a natural language processing (NLP) service for converting to text; sending the text sets to an elastic voice cloud search server for querying an electronic program guide (EPG) service, channel and program data associated with the text sets wherein the EPG service to at least return identified channel and program data; in response to an identified return of channel and television program data, sending sets of text to a third-party search service for performing an independent search for related data and returning search results of video and image content which is then stripped of dynamic scripts to return to the STB.

Abstract: The disclosed technique includes identity verification implanted via a blockchain. An identity system utilizes a key library to store private keys and a smart contract functionality to facilitate verification with third-party users. The identity system generates a public key based on the private key where the public key is stored on a blockchain. The public key stored on the blockchain can be retrieved by a third-party user via the smart contract functionality to authenticate a user on the blockchain.

Abstract: Systems, and methods are described for navigating non-dynamic pages at a client device served up from voice search requests by selecting a feature on the image page by a user request for navigating the feature viewed on the image page wherein the feature selected has an appearance of a dynamic feature when served up on the display wherein the user request selects a location on the image page; identifying the feature by the voice cloud server by location data of a selected location on the page; executing a feature request on a corresponding page which contains dynamic script at the voice cloud server to receive a linked page from a third-party search service; and removing dynamic scripts, at the voice cloud search server, of the linked page for serving up as an image page of the linked page at the client device.

Abstract: A system, device and method of use includes a data processing system configured to enable a first entity to control dispensing of a consumable provided in a package. An Internet-of-Things (IoT) device is directly associated with the package. A communications system communicatively couples the IoT device with the data processing system. The package may be a beer keg. The IoT device may include a valve for controlling the package by selecting an operating state for the valve. The data processing system enables a user to remotely control the valve. The IoT device captures and communicates consumable data, such as environmental data, location data, consumption data, and transactional data, to the data processing system. Transactional data may include payment information provided by a consumer. The IoT device controls the operating state of the valve based upon the payment information provided by the consumer.

Abstract: Various arrangements of location-based in-vehicle restaurant menu systems are presented. In some embodiments, a location sensor that determines a global location of a vehicle is present. An in-vehicle display incorporated as part of the vehicle may be present. A location of the vehicle may be determined to correspond to a location-specific menu based on data received from the location sensor. A location-specific menu may be retrieved for the available restaurant location in response to determining the location of the vehicle. The location-specific menu may be output for presentation to the in-vehicle display, allowing a user to decide on his order before approaching an intercom system.

Abstract: Devices, systems and processes for providing relevant, real-time information to a responder are described. For at least one embodiment, a process may include receiving, by a responder system, alert data identifying an incident location. The process may include determining whether relevant data for the incident location is stored in the responder system. When relevant data is not stored in the responder system, the process may include obtaining the relevant data for the incident location from an external data source and storing the obtained relevant data in the responder system. While proceeding to the incident location, the process may include generating, based on the alert data and the relevant data, initial augmented reality information for presentation to a responder associated with the responder system. Upon arriving at the incident location, the process may include generating second augment reality information for the responder.
