  • Patent number: 11524242
Abstract: A system and method for providing customized instances of a game within a virtual space. The system may be configured to obtain values associated with one or more users of the virtual space. The game, which is playable within the virtual space, may initially comprise predefined features and initially undefined features. The customizations may define the initially undefined features to provide custom-defined features. As such, when played, the game may include the predefined features and the custom-defined features. Customizations defining the initially undefined features to provide custom-defined features for a given instance of the game may be determined based on the values associated with a given user. The system may be configured to provide the given instance of the game to the given user.

  • Patent number: 11524239
Abstract: A gameplay system for providing interactivity based on a piece of merchandise or other object held or worn by a player. The system includes an object identification assembly, which may be a modified computer vision system, that operates to sense, for a gameplay participant, the presence and identity of a particular augmenting object such as themed merchandise worn or held by a rider of a theme park ride. The sensing may be performed by detecting an on-and-off pattern of light emitted from the object. In response, the gameplay system selects or modifies the interactive features of gameplay associated with the participant based on the identified augmenting object. For example, the interactive features are selected from memory by the gameplay system controller to match a character associated with the augmenting object during any interactive gameplay. This allows the gameplay participant to choose their abilities or powers for gameplay.

  • Patent number: 11509661
Abstract: A system includes a hardware processor that executes a software code to receive an authorization request on behalf of a user for a stacked resource including resources offered separately by multiple resource providers, determine resource provider computers associated with the stacked resource, and send a look-up request including an electronic identity of the user to those computers, where the electronic identity is used as a look-up key for determining user attribute(s) of the user. The software code further receives the user attribute(s) from the resource provider computers, generates an accumulated access profile of the user based on the user attribute(s), applies the profile to a rules engine to determine a stacked access result, and routes the authorization request and the stacked access result to one of the resource provider computers, where that computer completes an authorization process for access to the stacked resource based on the stacked access result.

  • Patent number: 11499592
Abstract: A strain wave gearbox configured to provide over-torque protection. The strain wave gearbox is designed to include a clutch that is at least partially housed within or positioned inside the internal space (herein labeled a chamber or void space interchangeably with internal space) of a flex spline. In some cases, the internal space is utilized to generate the preload for the clutch, and it may be used to provide room for a clutch preload subassembly. The clutch is located outside the flex spline's internal space and is formed to use geometric friction surfaces in the form of mating rings of teeth on mating surfaces or sides of the first and second clutch plates that once preloaded by the clutch preload subassembly require a greater torque than the design torque to rotate to the next tooth.

  • Patent number: 11501498
Abstract: According to one implementation, an augmented reality image generation system includes a display, and a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a software code. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive a camera image depicting one or more real-world object(s), and to identify one or more reference point(s) corresponding to the camera image, each of the reference point(s) having a predetermined real-world location. The software code further maps the real-world object(s) to their respective real-world location(s) based on the predetermined real-world location(s) of the reference point(s), merges the camera image with a virtual object to generate an augmented reality image including the real-world object(s) and the virtual object, and renders the augmented reality image on the display. The location of the virtual object in the augmented reality image is determined based on the real-world location(s) of the real-world object(s).

  • Patent number: 11503274
Abstract: Implementations of a compressive light field projection system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the compressive light field projection system utilizes a pair of light modulators, such as digital micromirror devices (DMDs), that interact to produce a light field. The light field is then projected via a projection lens onto a screen, which may be an angle expanding projection screen that includes a Fresnel lens for straightening the views of the light field and either a double lenticular array of Keplerian lens pairs or a single lenticular, for increasing the field of view. In addition, compression techniques are disclosed for generating patterns to place on the pair of light modulators so as to reduce the number of frames needed to recreate a light field.
