Abstract: A wire feeder is supplied with a bundle of pre-cut wires held substantially vertical orientation in a wire bin. Through gravity and optionally through vibration, a single strand from the bundle of pre-cut wires falls through a hole in the bottom of the bin, either for hand placement or for automatic placement. The floor of the bin is sloped to help migrate the strands of wire towards the hole in the bottom of the bin.

  • Patent number: 10291018
Abstract: A surge protection system provides surge protection to a load. The load is connected to a breaker panel through the surge protection system and a surge protection module bridges the hot/neutral/ground such that the surge protection module absorbs surges from the breaker panel and beyond. Being that, after exposure to certain amounts of surges, the surge protection modules lose effectiveness for surge protection, the surge protection module is removable and replaceable by a user without risk of personal injury from shock caused by making personal contact with electrical power. During removal and replacement, the load remains in electrical connection to the breaker panel.

  • Patent number: 9875830
Abstract: A surge protection system provides surge protection to one or more circuits. Each circuit is connected to power and a surge protection module bridges the circuit such that the surge protection module absorbs surges from the power and/or the circuit. Being that, after exposure to certain amounts of surges, the surge protection modules lose effectiveness for surge protection, each surge protection module is independently removable and replaceable by a user without risk of personal injury from shock caused by making personal contact with the power and/or circuit. In some embodiments, a filter circuit is provided to filter out noise on the circuit. It is anticipated that the protection module includes indicators to inform a user that the protection circuit is operational and whether protection has been lost. Further, in some embodiments, a fuse is provided to protect the circuit from over current.

  • Patent number: 7408757
Abstract: A method and apparatus for protecting a low voltage system, such as an alarm system, is described. The method and apparatus includes power line surge protector and a plurality of low-voltage surge protectors housed within a common cabinet. The low-voltage surge protectors are mounted in connectors that provide physical support as well as electrical connections. These electrical connections are routed to a set of input and output terminals by a printed circuit board that also provides support for the connectors and terminals. The combination of power line surge protectors and low-voltage surge protectors may help reduce damage to equipment such as an alarm system during power surges, perhaps caused by electrical storms or heavy electrical equipment being operated nearby. Because of the radio frequency noise emanating from the power line and the power line surge protector, a shield is provided that reduces the amount of noise that is transferred to the low-voltage signal paths.

  • Patent number: 7382596
Abstract: The method and apparatus includes an uninterruptible power supply along with its rechargeable battery and a plurality of video protection circuits all within a common chassis. The video protection circuits are configured to protect the digital video recorder from surges introduced at the video cameras or cabling. The uninterruptible power supply is configured to provide power to the digital video recorder should a line voltage power failure occur and may also include a surge protector to further protect the digital video recorder from power line surges. Since all components are housed substantially within a common chassis, a method of isolating the video protection circuit and associated connectors from the radio frequency noise within the common chassis is described as well as a method and apparatus to allow removal and replacement of the video protection circuits should a power surge destroy them.

  • Publication number: 20020141127
Abstract: A surge protection system to monitor and protect AC power lines, telephone/data transmission lines and coaxial cable lines together with associated devices and circuits comprising an AC power protection section, a communication protection section and a cable protection section wherein each protection section includes at least one surge protector comprising a modular surge device and corresponding surge protection circuitry to limit the surge of power therethrough to protect AC power line, telephone/data transmission lines and coaxial cable line together with devices and circuits used in association therewith from a surge of power exceeding a predetermined level and an AC power monitoring section to monitor and indicate the operating status and state of the AC power protection section.
