  • Patent number: 6585130
Abstract: A dispenser for the wipes is described suitable for use in a shower environment, utilizing a shell having opposed top and bottom ends and, in a preferred embodiment, a support device connected to the shell for securing the dispenser to an outside surface. In another embodiment, the dispenser prevents water spray from the shower from contaminating the wipes contained therein. The bottom end has a dispensing slot with a length dimension greater than a width dimension and a finger-access opening to enable the user to urge wipes in the direction of the dispensing slot. The inventive wipe dispenser also is conveniently refilled with disposable wipes.

  • Patent number: 6585984
Abstract: A cosmetic product is provided packaged in a dispenser with separate first and second storage areas. The first of the areas contains a first cosmetic composition containing a first dermal active agent, preferably selected from keratolytic skin agents. Particularly preferred are alpha- and beta-hydroxy carboxylic acids as first dermal active placed in a composition having a pH from about 1 to about 5.5. The second area contains a second cosmetic composition with a second dermal agent incompatible with the first composition. Particularly preferred second dermal agents are retinoids, vitamins, enzymes and anti-oxidants. Most preferred is retinol. The dispenser allows transfer of the first and second compositions through an exit nozzle in a respective dispensing weight ratio of from about 30:1 to about 2:1.

  • Patent number: 6586033
Abstract: A stable, acidified emulsion containing extremely high solids and high salt content is disclosed. This can be used in a complementary combination liquid/paste sauce composition with a dry, particulate seasoning composition. The sauce has a selected amount of water and thus could be subject to microbiological attack, which in turn requires pH control. The sauce has selected emulsifiers to result in good initial emulsification and good dilution characteristics. The components of the sauce, including solids, salt and preservatives, have been selected for stability and to achieve a centrifuge stability of at least about 25%.

  • Patent number: 6586384
Abstract: A method of delivering a benefit agent to a selected area of a fabric for exerting a predetermined activity, wherein the area is pre-treated with a multi-specific binding molecule which has a high binding affinity to said area through one specificity and is capable of binding to said benefit agent through another specificity, followed by contacting said pre-treated area with said benefit agent, to enhance said pre-determined activity to said area. Preferably, the binding molecule is an antibody or fragment thereof, or a fusion protein comprising a cellulose binding domain and a domain having a high binding affinity to another ligand which is directed to said benefit agent. The method is useful for stain removal, perfume delivery, and treating collars and cuffs for wear.

  • Patent number: 6581491
Abstract: A pedal construction includes an adjustable pedal subassembly having a lower pedal member adjustably supported on an upper pedal member by an adjustment device. The lower pedal member includes a pedal lever and a lever mount including abutting mounting sections forming a fixed joint. The mounting section of the lever mount has a channel with sharp edges and the mounting section of the lever has a ridge interference fit into the channel. The sharp edges shave marginal material from sides of the ridge when the ridge is forced into the channel, but the ridge has depressions adjacent its bottom that receive the shaved marginal material when the ridge is forced into the channel. Fasteners extend through the ridge and channel to hold the assembly together, with the ridge and channel interface forming a primary mechanical structure providing torsional strength to the joint.
