  • Patent number: 5587102
Abstract: A magnetic paint composition comprising a carrier, particulate magnetically permeable material, a binder, and a thickening agent having thixotropic and viscosity characteristics such that the paint composition has high viscosity when stationary, and low viscosity when shear forces to the paint composition, as it is being applied to a wall surface. When the paint is dried, magnetic objects can be mounted to the wall surface and held in place by the interaction by the magnetically permeable material.

  • Patent number: 5524798
Abstract: An apparatus for applying spray texture to a wall or the like. The apparatus comprises an aerosol can containing pressurized spray texture material. The spray texture material is released from the can by a valve and passes through a nozzle passageway, out of a discharge opening, and on to a surface to be textured. The apparatus further comprises an outlet member that can be placed over the discharge opening to vary the effective cross-sectional area thereof. This outlet member can be in the form of a straw or tube that is inserted into the nozzle passageway or a disc or other member having a plurality of outlet orifices formed therein. The outlet member having a plurality of outlet orifices can be attached directly to an actuator member in which the dispensing passageway is formed.

  • Patent number: 5489048
Abstract: A method for applying a spray texture material to a wall surface utilizing an aerosol container for the texture material, along with discharge tubes through which the material is dispensed. By using tubes of different cross-sectional area, the spray patterns of the material can be made with smaller and larger particle size within more precisely controlled limits.

  • Patent number: 5450983
Abstract: An aerosol spray texture apparatus to dispense a spray texture material having particulate matter therein against a ceiling or other surface. There is a container having a spray texture material in the lower portion thereof, and inert compressed gas in the upper part of the container. A dispensing valve at the top of the container is depressed to cause the spray texture material to travel upwardly through a dispensing tube and from the valve onto the ceiling surface.

  • Patent number: 5372130
Abstract: A face mask assembly and method of use having a housing and a replaceable filter mounted in said housing. A fan means draws air into a plenum chamber defined by said housing and said filter for this air to pass into a facial breathing area. An outlet check valve is provided, and a primary filter through which air passes before entering said plenum chamber.

  • Patent number: 5188295
Abstract: A spray applicator to discharge plaster or another texturizing material in a spray pattern against a wall surface or the like. There is a manually operable air cylinder and piston assembly which discharges pressurized air through a first nozzle, with an air jet traveling through an area where the plaster or the material descends from a container, with the air jet carrying some of the plaster through a forward discharge nozzle to cause a spray pattern. There is rotatable fluid discharge nozzle portion which is, by said rotation, moved toward and away from an air discharge nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5114527
Abstract: A dry wall tape applicator where the tape moves through a chamber containing a taping compound and out a dispensing opening to a seam defined by two drywall panels. The dispensing opening is formed in part by an adjustably mounted plate, the position of which is controlled by a rotatable knob having an eccentric actuating stud member engaging a slot of the plate. The plate is held within close tolerances in a slideway so that the dispensing opening defines an accurately controlled slot of uniform width. The bottom wall of the housing has a convex configuration so that when the tape is in close proximity to the bottom wall, there is a proper application of the taping compound to the tape.

  • Patent number: 4961537
Abstract: A manually operated spray applicator to deposit plaster or the like against a wall surface in a spray pattern. There is a forward containing chamber for the plaster, a rear pressurizing chamber to supply the pressurized air through a discharge stem, and an intermediate positioning chamber having a moveable piston which moves the discharge stem between its open and closed positions. There is a control valve which is operable by a trigger which selectively vents a bypass passageway that pressurizes the positioning chamber to move the discharge stem between its open and closed positions.
