    Abstract: An improved cable connector includes a connector insert having an axial bore dimensioned to receive the core of a reinforced cable. A connector body has a substantially cylindrical outer surface and a substantially cylindrical cavity. A distal portion of the cavity is dimensioned to receive the connector insert. A second portion of the cavity proximally displaced from the distal portion is dimensioned to receive the conductor strands of the cable. The connector body may be configured with one or more additional portions of the cavity having progressively increasing diameters, the number of such portions depending on the size of the cable. Alternatively, the inner surface of the cavity may have a slight taper. Using a single die, the connector body is compressed with a swaging tool at several axially spaced-apart locations to grip the conductor strands and also to grip the connector insert.

    Abstract: The invention refers to an enamel composition for producing reflecting dielectric layers in plasma display panels, comprising as layer forming constituents 70 to 97% by wt. of a glass frit composition and 3 to 30% by wt. of a particulate whitening material. The whitening material comprises one or more thermally deactivated white pigments, which have been made by a process comprising heating of at least one white pigment in the absence or presence of a glass frit having a softening temperature of less than 600° C. at a temperature of 600 to 1000° C. for 0,1 to 10 hours. The invention further refers to a method for improving the wettability of white pigments by the above said thermal treatment. The enamel is used for producing a reflecting white dielectric layer in plasma display panels.

An enlarged tab is integrally formed at an outward end of the projection and is turned downward against the main portion to secure the tab in position through the ends of the loop so that the label resists slipping along the length of the skein.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a conductive coating on glass and enamelled steel using a screen-printable aluminum paste. The paste to be used contains: 40 to 80 wt. %, in particular, 50 to 75 wt. % aluminum powder; 5 to 40 wt. %, in particular, 9 to 25 wt. % glass frit having an initial softening temperature of 400 to 700° C., in particular, 420 to 580° C.; 10 to 35 wt. % of a liquid or thermoplastic medium; and 0 to 10 wt. % sintering aid. The substrate coated with the paste is heated at 500 to 750° C., in particular, 590 to 690° C. The coating on the substrate is characterized by having a low specific resistance of less than 100 &mgr;ohm·cm, in particular in the range of 10 to 70 &mgr;ohm·cm, and good adhesion.

    Abstract: A method for producing composite powders based on silver-tin oxide, by chemically reductive precipitation of silver onto particulate tin oxide. A solution of a silver compound and a solution of a reducing agent are simultaneously added in stoichiometrically equivalent amounts, separately and continuously with intensive mixing, to an aqueous suspension of tin oxide. The resulting composite powders have very high homogeneity, and can be processed to make electrical contact materials. The method is particularly suitable for producing composite powders based on silver-tin oxide doped with indium oxide, to be used in the manufacture of electrical contact materials.

    Abstract: Hitherto, glazing defects have arisen during glazing of ceramic substrates with an electrostatically applicable coating powder. This problem is solved by the coating powder CPAB and the coating method. The electrostatically applicable coating powder CPAB contains 1 to 50 wt. % of a glass-forming composition A which begins softening at 400 to 750° C. and 99 to 50 wt. % of a glass-forming composition B which begins to soften above 750-1,100° C. Preferably, the coating powder consists of 2.5 to 25 wt. % A, 75 to 97.5 wt. % B and 0 to 20 wt. %, specially 2 to 10 wt. % of thermally or chemically activatable adhesive agents. The coating powder CPAB is electrostatically applied as a single powder. Alternately, coating can be applied in two layers, wherein the CPU powder contains at least 5 wt. % of glass-forming composition A as a lower layer and the powder CPO contains at least 50 wt. % of glass-forming composition B as an upper layer.
