  • Patent number: 5076192
Abstract: An unmanned submarine which is guided to the surface of the water in order to launch an air rocket contained therein and which is provided in its walls with closeable openings for the discharge of the rocket recoil gases into the surrounding water to conduct the impinging recoil gases of a launched air rocket directly out of the submarine. To create a lock for the recoil gas discharge openings which withstands high water pressures and is easily opened in the starting phase of the air rocket, the openings are disposed in the surfaces where the recoil gases impinge on the wall of the submarine, each opening is closed by a cover which is pressed out of the opening by the impinging gases, the seat for the cover in the opening is configured as an inwardly tapered conical surface, and the cover is held in the opening by a transport safety which is released by the action of the pressure of the recoil gases or the cover.

  • Patent number: 5069398
Abstract: A protection arrangement for a guide cable of an air rocket started from a launcher and guided into a target by the guide cable. A glass fiber cable is employed as the guide cable for controlling the air rocket. A liquid absorbing material covers at least a portion of the glass fiber cable. A coil chamber at least partially filled with a liquid is provided for storing the glass fiber cable covered with the liquid absorbing material wound in a coil prior to being unwound upon launching of the air rocket.

  • Patent number: 5062345
Abstract: A cap for a rocket exit opening of a mobile rocket launcher for a submarine which is guided to the surface of the water in order to launch an air rocket which pushes out the cap when it is launched. The cap includes pressed together cap segments for covering the exit opening of the mobile rocket launcher. The cap segments are shaped so that externally applied force components which are radial with respect to the longitudinal axis of the submarine act on the segments. The cap segments present a peripheral edge which cooperate with the peripheral edge of the exit opening to form a form locking plug-in connection with one another which is held together by external force components acting in the axial direction of the submarine. A tear-away, pressure resistant, slightly elastic and watertight, thin sheet adapted for attachment to the submarine is stretched over the cap segments when it is attached to the submarine.
