Patents Assigned to Dock, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6912966
Abstract: A molded gangway section is provided to form a gangway between a shore and a dock, pier, and the like. The gangway includes an upper tread surface and a bottom surface having recesses formed therein. The ceilings or upper surfaces of the recesses are formed with grooves. Two or more of the gangway sections can be connected together to form gangways of incrementally increasing lengths. Hinge connections are provided to connect the gangway to piers, docks, shore abutments, ramps, etc. Additionally, a roller can be mounted to a shore end of the gangway.

  • Patent number: 5281055
Abstract: The present invention concerns a floating dock which is economical, durable and easy to install and maintain. The dock is comprised of uniform floating docking sections coupled together with rubber male-type anchors which fit into female-type receiving sockets on the docking sections. The two anchors of the couplers are secured together by a tie rod. The docking sections eliminate the need for boat bumpers, wood planking or other additional parts and expenses but allow for the attachment of desired accessories such as spud pipes, gang planks and tie-up cleats. The versatile docking sections can be arranged in an unlimited number of dock designs.

  • Patent number: 5235929
Abstract: A docking system is disclosed in which modules that are of integral, unitary structure may be joined to form a floating dock. Each module is made up of a deck and side walls to form a hollow chamber within which is disposed a flotation unit of a large-scale honeycomb made by joining plastic containers to each other and to the deck and side walls. A substantially isotropic tension member or system of tension members is joined to the bottom of the walls and cells to complete a module in which applied forces are shared by all elements. Apparatus for aligning and joining modules to form dock structures are described as are apparatus to ballast the structure and determine freeboard.

  • Patent number: 4804298
Abstract: Disclosed is an anchoring pad (12) and hinge arrangement (45) for use with a dock structure (10) in a body of water (11). The concrete anchoring pad (12) includes a steel angle (44) and a reinforcing structure (40). A hinge (45) having a vertical and horizontal leaf (47, 46) interconnects the anchoring pad (12) to the dock structure (10) by a plurality of bolts (53, 54). Also disclosed is a chain support (56) for stabilization of the vertical support structure (29) of the dock (10).

  • Patent number: 4715307
Abstract: A marine float for use in conjunction with a concrete floating dock system and methods for manufacturing the same. The float consisting of a buoyant core of expanded polystyrene foam supporting a textured deck of standard aggregate concrete and surrounded by a shell of fiberglass reinforced cement. The float is fabricated as a unitary whole by pouring a layer of standard aggregate concrete in a form over a texturing mat to provide the textured deck, placing a buoyant element over the poured deck and spraying a layer of fiberglass reinforced cement around the buoyant element before any of the concrete elements has set. All concrete elements are then permitted to set to form a monolithic float.

  • Patent number: 4623161
Abstract: A boat trailer including a main frame (4,8) having mounted thereon a keel support (21) adjustable, side supports (20) and self-storing upwardly and outwardly flaring dolphins (22). The trailer is capable of being located in water deep enough to float the boat on or off because the tongue is extendible, box beam (70) including hitch (76) is movable relative to box beam (10) under control of powered drive means (74), controlling flexible members (80,84), the opposite ends of which are anchored to box beam (10). A floating boat is guided into an automatic latch mechanism by guides (18,30) and automatically secured to or released from latch (48) from the helm of the boat.

  • Patent number: 4461132
Abstract: A sub-structure for boat docks consisting of an elongated, ladder-like frame having a pair of side bars connected by a series of cross bars extending between and connected at their ends to the side bars, the side bars and cross bars being of such cross-sectional configuration, and the connections therebetween being of such a nature, that the frame may yield in a vertical direction with relatively great resilient flexibility, whereby to accomodate wave action in the water therebeneath, while at the same time being relatively highly resistant to deformation in its own plane for maintaining its horizontal form and shape. Generally, the side and cross bars are of such configuration as to strongly resist bending stresses, but to permit torsional yielding with relative ease, and the cross bars are connected to the side bars to permit a degree of universal pivotal movement therebetween.
