  • Patent number: 11341324
Abstract: An automatic template system can allow users to create automatic templates and use the automatic templates to generate documents using data from a linked CRM system. To facilitate the generation of automatic templates, the automatic template system can provide a template creation interface allowing a user to generate an automatic template (including setting up template logic). The template creation interface can include a CRM integration area with a set of tagged data fields representing relevant data from a linked CRM database and a document editing area allowing a user to edit document content, insert merge fields linked to tagged data fields, and edit template logic via an inline logic interface for adding and modifying template logic.

  • Patent number: 11341220
Abstract: Techniques for electronic signature process management are described. Some embodiments provide an electronic signature service (“ESS”) configured to manage electronic identity cards. In some embodiments, the ESS generates and manages an electronic identity card for a user, based on personal information of the user, activity information related to the user's actions with respect to the ESS, and/or social networking information related to the user. The electronic identity card of a signer may be associated with an electronic document signed via the ESS, so that users may obtain information about the signer of the document. The ESS may also generate a trust score for the user based on activity information related to the user's actions with respect to the ESS and/or other factors. The trust score may be used to recommend authentication mechanisms to use with respect to electronic signature transactions.

  • Patent number: 11314927
Abstract: An online document system maintains a document comprising document content. Users can edit document of the online document system by in the form of operations (which represent desired changes to document content). Instead of directly applying the received operations to the document content, the online document system consolidates operations into a tracked change object based on a common intent of the operations. To render the document content (with tracked change object) the online document system applies the set of operations to the document content and generates a tracked change indication to highlight content changed by the set of operations.

  • Patent number: 11301616
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for detecting that a requesting user is transmitting a request to a recipient user to perform one or more tasks with respect to a secure document. The system extracts features associated with the secure document and inputs the features into a machine learning model that outputs one or more probabilities corresponding to a potential failure of the request. Based on the one or more probabilities, the system generates one or more feature modification activities to improve a likelihood of the recipient user completing the request. The system provides the one or more feature modification activities to at least one of the requesting user and the recipient user.

  • Patent number: 11055479
Abstract: Techniques for obtaining electronic signatures via word processing applications are described. One approach utilizes a code module, also referred to as a “markup module,” that executes within a word processing application and that facilitates the preparation of a document for electronic signature. A user can operate the word processing application together with the markup module in order to add signature tag markers to the document and to provide recipient information about intended signers, such as names and email addresses. Once the document has been prepared, the code module transmits the document (including the added signature tag markers) and the recipient information to a digital transaction service. The digital transaction service then manages the signing of the document, such as by notifying the recipient, receiving the recipient's signature and securely storing the signature in association with the document.

  • Patent number: 11005835
Abstract: A system and method are described in which a document transaction management platform coordinates performance of trust actions across a plurality of trust service providers. For example, a method can include operations executing on a connector module in communication with a digital transaction management platform and a trust service provider, such as the following. Receiving, from the digital transaction management platform, a transaction request including a token and a requested trust action. Accessing user information for a recipient involved in the requested trust action using the token. Obtaining, from the digital transaction management platform, transaction data associated with the requested trust action. Coordinating, with the trust service provider, performance of the trust action on at least a portion of the transaction data. Transmitting, to the digital transaction management platform, a proof received from the trust service provider confirming performance of the trust action.

  • Patent number: 10878183
Abstract: A system, computer-readable storage medium, and computer-implemented method for signing a document involving generating copies of the document in response to receiving actions to perform on the document. In particular, a web service can transmit a document for signing to a client device such that the document is viewable through graphical user interfaces while the underlying content of the document remains non-editable by the client devices through the web service. Responsive to receiving actions, the web service can generate one or more copies of the document that may include modifications that correspond to the received actions.

  • Patent number: 10841439
Abstract: Techniques for signer-initiated electronic document signing via an electronic signature service using a mobile or other client device are described. Example embodiments provide an electronic signature service (“ESS”) configured to facilitate the creation, storage, and management of documents and corresponding electronic signatures. In some embodiments, when a signer user receives a hard copy (e.g., paper) signature document, the signer may capture an image of the signature document with a camera of a mobile device. The signer can then import the captured image into the ESS for signature, storage, and/or transmission to other parties.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided to provide cloud-based coordination of customer premise service appliances. A system can include a computing device comprising a communication module, a policy module, an appliance selection module, and a coordination module. The communication module receives a document request from a first client over a network connection, establishes a session with the first client in response to the document request, and receives metadata representing collected signatures at after completion of the electronic signature operation portion of the document request. The policy module manages a policy associate with a first account corresponding to the document request. The appliance selection module selects one of a plurality of document appliances.

  • Patent number: 10776563
Abstract: Systems and methods to improve a technological process for signing documents are described. The system accesses a portable document format (PDF) file and a first signature tag marker element (STME) to parse the PDF to generate logical text block elements (LTBE). The LTBEs describe original document elements in the PDF including a first LTBE. The system sorts each LTBE against the first STME to pair the first LTBE with the first STME based on proximity. The system generates markup language information (MLI) for utilization at the client device (CD) for rendering a responsive markup language image (RMLI) in a responsive format and communicates the MLI to a CD for rendering the RMLI on the CD. The system receives the signing information from the CD causing the signing information to be associated with the first signature tag marker identifier and communicates the PDF and the signing information to the CD.

  • Patent number: RE48919
Abstract: Techniques for providing data security services with respect to cloud-based services are described. Examples include a security service provider (“SSP”) configured to perform or provide one or more security-related services or functions with respect to or on behalf of some other system or service. The other system or service may be, for example, a cloud-based system that provides network-accessible services. The SSP allows a user of the cloud-based service to provide and manage one or more security-related services, such as data storage, encryption, decryption, key management, and the like. By using and controlling the SSP, the user can be confident that his or her data is being securely represented and stored, even though it is being operated upon by a cloud-based service that is not under the user's control.
