  • Patent number: 5416292
Abstract: The ignition distributor comprises a housing, in which a distributor rotor (4) is rotatably mounted, which comprises a first electrode (9) close to the axis of rotation (5) of the rotor, a second electrode (10) at that end of the rotor which is remote from the axis of rotation, and between said electrodes an electrical line (11), which connects the two electrodes. The housing is closed by a distributor cap (1), which is provided on its inside surface with a plurality of peripherally spaced apart stationary electrodes ( 3 ), which cooperate with the second electrode (10) of the distributor rotor, and also comprises a center electrode (2), which terminates at a small distance from and defines a spark gap with the first electrode (9) of the distributor rotor. One electrode of the pair consisting of the first electrode (9) of the distributor rotor and the center electrode (2) is pinlike and the other electrode (9) does not surround the pinlike electrode (2) or surrounds it around less than its entire periphery.

  • Patent number: 5405704
Abstract: Ceramic plates are described, which are coated with metal at least on one side and suitably on both sides and have an improved resistance to cyclic temperature changes because a ceramic material is used which has a texture that is as low as possible.

  • Patent number: 5389220
Abstract: The apparatus for a continuous selective electrodeposition on a strip comprises a carrier (2), which guides the strip (1) in its longitudinal direction, which are faced by electrolyte discharge orifices (3), through which the electrolyte, which has been discharged by a pump (4) is sprayed onto the strip (1), which is covered by a mask tape (5), The mask tape (5) is provided with at least one row of holes (6) and urges the strip (1) against the carrier (2). The strip (1) is provided with drive means (7) for moving the strip (1) relative to the mask tape (5). The carrier (2) is straight and one or more pressure-applying elements (8), which are parallel to the carrier (2), are associated with the carrier (2) and urge the mask tape (5) against the carrier (2). The carrier and the pressure-applying elements, individually or jointly, define openings (3), which face the electrolyte discharge orifices (3) and overlap the holes (6) of the mask tape (5).

  • Patent number: 5360673
Abstract: A semifinished product for electric contact made from a composite material based on silver-tin oxide is described as well as a powder-metallurgical process of making said product. The structure of the semifinished products contains regions which contain no metal oxide or very little metal oxide in alternation with regions which contain the entire metal oxide component or a greatly predominating/share thereof in a fine division.

  • Patent number: 5220575
Abstract: The electrode consists of a metal carrier (1) and a surface layer (3), which has been deposited on the carrier and has a thickness of 0.1 to 20 .mu.m and consists of a material which differs from the carrier material and distinguishes from the carrier material by having a smaller work function and lower thermal and electrical conductivities and is selected from the group tungsten, niobium, tantalum, rhenium and chromium. The carrier (1) consists of a deeply drawable material. There is preferably also an interlayer (2) made of a highly conductive metal.

  • Patent number: 5078103
Abstract: The distributor comprises a rotatably mounted rotor, which has close to its axis of rotation a first electrode and has at its end that is remote from the axis of rotation a second electrode, which is connected by an electric line to the first electrode. The distributor also comprises a housing, which is closed by a cap, which is provided on its inside peripheral surface with a plurality of peripherally spaced apart fixed electrodes for cooperating with the second electrode of the roto. The cap is further provided on its inside surface with a center electrode, which terminates at a distance from the first electrode of the rotor to form a spark gap therewith. To form a positive joint with the cap the embedded portion of the center electrode has a non-cylindrical peripheral surface, which is rounded and free of any edge.

  • Patent number: 5023467
Abstract: In the method of controlling the wiping interval, the interval of time between two consecutive wiping movements, of which at least the second wiping movement was started arbitrarily, is measured, the measured value is stored and is subsequently used as interval time unless a different interval time becomes stored due to another arbitrary starting of wiping movements, or unless the interval operation of the wiper is interrupted or unless the control circuit is deenergized.

  • Patent number: 4910180
Abstract: A process for the preparation of catalysts, in particular for the purification of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, is described, which makes it possible to use supports stable up to at least 1,200.degree. C. which are free of gamma-aluminium oxide and transition aluminium oxide and nevertheless have a high catalytic activity. The catalytically active noble metal as the constituent of a composite powder is attached to the support, which in addition to the noble metal contains a thermally stable metal oxide and is prepared by the spray pyrolysis process.
