Abstract: An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a drinking straw includes means for transferring a continuous material web through the apparatus, means for bending the continuous material web into a U-shape, a mandrel for receiving the U-shaped continuous material web, means for shaping the continuous U-shaped material web into a O-shape with an overlapping edge section around the tool, fastening means for fastening the overlapping edge section and a transverse cutter. The fastening means has a plurality of heated rollers in a row.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for making a corrugated zone to a bendable drinking straw. The drinking straw is made of a web that is moved along a guided path in a wanted speed and the corrugated zone is created by clamping the web with a clamping mechanism against the guided path for a wanted period of time to stop the motion of the second part of the web after the clamping mechanism.
Abstract: The object of the invention is a drinking straw, which comprises a liquid channel (3) and one edge section (4), which liquid channel (3) is essentially parallel with the edge section (4). The drinking straw (1) material is sustainable, recyclable and biodegradable coated. cardboard, and in that the drinking straw (1) is formed of one essentially rectangular sheet-like piece (2) of the coated cardboard.
