Abstract: The invention provides an air-conditioner for maintaining a temperature of a conditioned space at or near a set temperature. The air-conditioner comprises at least one rotating or reciprocating element adapted to rotate or reciprocate at a variable frequency. The variable frequency including one or more nuisance frequencies at which vibration or noise within the air-conditioner or the conditioned space causes a nuisance. A processor (30) programmed to control variation of the variable frequency in response to operational requirement. The processor is configured to operate the at least one rotating or reciprocating element so as to substantially exclude operation at the one or more nuisance frequencies.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a beverage heating and cooling assembly is provided which includes a collar and beverage retainer assembly for connection to retain the assembly below a mounting substrate. The beverage retainer assembly may include a housing with an active heating or cooling system, such as a thermoelectric engine, which is positioned within or adjacent to the housing and beneath the mounting substrate or similar planar structure. The assembly allows for a clean installation of an active thermal system for beverages in order to keep the beverages cold or warm as desired.

Abstract: An energy harvesting wind sensor is provided for an awning assembly. The device is self-powering in that energy is converted from wind to electrical in order to power the sensor and a transmitter which signals a receiver to retract the awning assembly if a preselected threshold is met or exceeded. Since the system converts wind energy to electrical energy, wiring is not needed to extend along the moving or rotating parts of the awning assembly.
Abstract: An air vent may cover an opening formed in a structure to block water or debris from entering an interior of the structure through the opening. The air vent is movable between a closed and an open position to selectively block or allow fluid communication between the interior and an exterior of the structure.

Abstract: An extruded fin pack assembly is provided which is positioned within an appliance cabinet. In the embodiments, the fin pack includes a plurality of fins which are mounted in a substantially vertical plane and create flowpaths for air flow currents therethrough. A cover is provided to attach to the fins and hide the fins from view when the cabinet of the refrigerator or freezer is open. The cover also increases efficiency of the flowpaths between the fins thereby increasing convection heat transfer and increasing removal of heat from within the cabinet.
Abstract: The embodiments relate to a self-supporting articulated-arm cassette awning, in particular for motor homes or trailers, comprising articulated arms (20) that are pivotable at awning arm joints or shoulder joints (10), and brackets or shoulders (II) for connecting the entire awning (100) to the vehicle by means of fastening elements and for receiving joint pins (I) in an insertable, in particular, slidable manner and for at least limiting the twistability of joint pins (I) of those parts of the awning arm joint or shoulder joint that are fixed to the vehicle. Desirable is a compact, continuously variable twisting arrangement for the joint pin which, at the same time, is capable of absorbing the high torques of the extended awning.
Abstract: An appliance is provided having a cabinet with at least one compartment for positioning of a drawer. The drawer may be moved into and out of the at least one compartment and the drawer comprises a food container. The drawer includes a geared assembly having a gear rack and pinion gear which inhibit wobble of the drawer when the drawer is pulled from the at least one compartment or is pushed into the at least one compartment.
