Abstract: An apparatus for protecting a syringe after use, the syringe comprising a body and a needle, the apparatus comprising a hollow member for receiving the body of the syringe, the hollow member comprising attaching means for securing the hollow member to the body of the syringe and a protective member slidably mounted on the hollow member and slidable between a syringe operating position wherein the protective member covers at least one part of the body of the syringe and a permanent final position wherein the protective member cover said needle of the syringe. The apparatus advantageously reduces the risk associated with handling a syringe after use.
