Patent number: 5385231Abstract: A jewel case for compact disks has a hinged lid and base held in the closed position by both a breakable tab extending from the base though a mortise in the lid and by a dimple and protrusion forming a detent. Initial opening of the jewel box requires a sufficient force to break the tab. Later openings require less force sufficient only to release the detent. The hinge is formed of pins received in sockets, the pins and sockets being disengageable only when the lid and base are in the open position. The tabs have camming surfaces to permit them to engage the mortise in the lid by deflecting sidewalls of the lid apart.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1994Date of Patent: January 31, 1995Assignee: Don Evans, Inc.Inventor: Robert C. Patent number: 4974733Abstract: A vertical file assembly which is easy and less costly to manufacture with injection molding techniques has (1) a divider unit with spaced apart dividers rising from an integral base panel to form compartments for books, catalogs, file folders and documents and (2) two wedge-shaped adapters each with a pair of barbed projections projecting inwards from an upper edge. These projections are inserted in receiving slots and latched in apertures formed in the bottom of the base panel of the divider unit. When the adapters and divider unit are assembled, the base panel slants upward from front to back to elevate each divider a certain measure above the preceding divider. The wedge-shaped adapters also have tabs with ledge portions which slide along the sidewalls and are caught in niches in the sidewalls of a supporting letter tray.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1989Date of Patent: December 4, 1990Assignee: Don Evans, Inc.Inventor: Dale M. Patent number: 4588094Abstract: A file tray adapted to be mounted on a generally vertical wall with headed fasteners driven into the wall. The file tray is adapted to serve both as a primary and secondary file tray in a vertical array including a primary file tray and at least one secondary file tray. A vertically oriented mounting surface is adapted to rest against the wall on which the file tray is mounted. A back wall extends forwardly and upwardly from the mounting surface for a selected distance. A back wall flange extends from the top of the back wall rearwardly to the mounting surface. The file tray has compartment having at least a floor and including the back wall. The mounting surface includes bottom and top mounting tabs having notches and holes adapted to engage the shank of a headed fastener so that the head thereof retains the file tray on the wall.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1984Date of Patent: May 13, 1986Assignee: Don Evans, Inc.Inventor: Dale M.
