Abstract: Described herein are transdermal solvent systems comprising at least one active agent in solution in a base solution, the base solution comprising at least one fatty acid ester compound, at least one monoterpene compound and a co-solvent in the form of DMSO or DMI and at least one plant oil. The base solution was found to be highly versatile and provide superior or at least comparable skin penetration efficacy and active agent compatibility. Methods of treatment, uses of the solvent system and methods of manufacture are also described.

Abstract: Described herein are stable veterinary formulations and methods of treatment and use, comprising at least one macrocyclic lactone and levamisole as active anthelmintic agents, optionally also with at least one benzimidazole class anthelmintic, wherein the actives are solubilized together in a solvent system comprising dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The veterinary formulations, methods and use thereof include the ability to deliver two or more anthelmintic actives in the one solution (or suspension) while also maintaining formulation stability when stored over a period of time. Delivery of different anthelmintics with different activities allows several classes of parasite to be targeted in one dose.

Abstract: Described herein are transdermal parasiticidal formulations and methods of treatment and use, wherein the formulation is not only able to deliver an agent or agents through the skin layer, but is able to do so through wool, dirt and/or a sebum layer on the skin if such layers are present. The transdermal parasiticidal formulation may be a solution including a therapeutically effective amount of levamisole anthelmintic agent dissolved in a solution including isopropyl myristate and D-limonene. This base formulation is highly compatible with other compounds and various other actives may be added to this formulation.
