    Abstract: The outdoor torch has a housing including a receptacle for removably receiving a flaming illumination means, such as an oil burner assembly, a support connected to the lower end of the housing for support the housing in an upright position and a flameguard of a fire resistant material, preferably in the form of a generally cylindrical sleeve and having opposed open ends, surrounding the outer surface of the housing for preventing flame from the oil burner assembly from contacting the housing.
