Abstract: A system for re-surfacing a pavement surface includes a mobile vehicle having a first longitudinal axis and a material delivery mechanism having a second longitudinal axis. The system also includes an actuation system coupled to the mobile vehicle and to the material delivery mechanism. The actuation system is configured to actuate the material delivery mechanism with respect to the mobile vehicle such that the first longitudinal axis is oriented obliquely with respect to the second longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A system for re-surfacing a pavement surface includes a conduit configured to transfer a spreadable material and a material application and dispersal device (MADD) coupled in flow communication with the conduit. The MADD includes at least one material application mechanism (MAM) coupled in flow communication with the conduit. The system also includes a pressurization device coupled in flow communication with the conduit and the MADD. The pressurization device is configured to channel the spreadable material into the at least one MAM and to generate a positive pressure within the at least one MAM to facilitate delivering the spreadable material to the pavement surface.

Abstract: A material transfer unit is described that includes a truck, a hopper configured for mounting proximate a rear of the truck, and a conveyor comprising a catch section, a head section and a conveyor belt extending therebetween. The catch section is configured for placement under the hopper and the head section is configured for placement proximate a front of the truck. The head section is further configured for movement with respect to the truck for placement of transferred material.

Abstract: A composition for microsurfacing of pavement is described. The composition includes a polymer-modified emulsion asphalt oil, water, cement, and crushed aggregate. The crushed aggregate includes a first portion having an L.A. abrasion resistance which is higher than an L.A. abrasion resistance of a second portion of the crushed aggregate.
